The Sagittarius Gole, spectacular and picturesque canyon carved by centuries of erosion of the rushing waters of the Sagittario river, represent one of the most important natural areas in Europe. The Regional Nature Reserve of the Sagittarius Gole (WWF since 1991) is located in the town of Anversa degli Abruzzi. After two hours, starting from Rome, we reached this magical place driving along a small road for several kilometers on the bottom of this deep canyon.
