« The space is beautiful inside and out, we struggled with the gate lock the first couple of times we used it, it started to loosen up the more we used it. The frogs come alive at night and give you a symphony. If you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping bring ear plugs. We will absolutely stay here again. »

« This was an absolutely awesome place to call home for a week! We only wish it could have been longer! We loved the open air quality of the space, and our daily visits from Paele the cat, the wild pig, wild turkey, and many geckos! The temperature was perfect with the cool breeze coming into the room, and we were so happy for the chance to meet Johnny and tour the properties. « We had such a wonderful stay. The home is beautifully built, well maintained and we felt right at home. The host gave so many great recommendations and showed how much she cared from our arrival to departure. We highly recommend this home and stay in Volcano being so close to Kīlauea was great. We loved being in the quiet mountains and enjoyed our time around the home with peaceful outdoor space as well. We hope to return again one day! »

« We had a wonderful time staying at Mark's place and visiting the NP. Mark is a great host and was invaluable in alerting us to the latest eruptions. Thanks to him, we were able to witness the eruption on July 9th, which was an amazing 1,200 foot tall fountain of lava. You can really tell that Mark put some thought into the cottage and its amenities. We had everything we needed for our visit. Highly recommended! »

« The cottage was fantastic. Had all the amenities. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with a view of a golf course, but easy driving distance to the Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano. We were very busy seeing the various attractions of the island, such as waterfalls, the black sand beach and South Point, and hiking in the National Park. We wished we could have spent more time at the cottage. Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. »

« May be one of the best places I’ve stayed at. I was able to relax, and feel at peace. The cottage was comfortable, clean and had a well set up kitchen, three lanai and lovely decor. The beauty of the surroundings was wonderful; trees, plants, ocean, and our own good luck gecko:). The owners were kind and respectful of our time there. Putting my phone away for a bit, other than taking photos also increased my joy. Thank you David and ClayWe hope to be back again soon! »

« The location is great as long as you have a car for the short trips to town and the ocean. Check in was easy, just keep in touch and it's easy.The fresh mangoes and abundant colorful bird activity were highlights. Even though not in the listing, there were a variety of snorkel gear in good shape for use, along with chairs and beach towels. "Volcano Village Lodge est un petit Ă©tablissement bien placĂ©, proche du parc national Volcano. TrĂšs au calme au cƓur de la rain forest, nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour. Il dispose en plus d’un jacuzzi accessible facilement. Seules dĂ©ceptions de notre cĂŽtĂ© : lors de notre arrivĂ©e une trĂšs gentille dame nous a informĂ© que nous pouvions accĂ©der Ă  la rĂ©ception pour venir se reposer, prendre un cafĂ©, manger quelques snacks
 sauf qu’elle n’est jamais ouverte. Nous y sommes allĂ© Ă  plusieurs reprises (matin, aprĂšs midi), jamais personne. Ensuite le mĂ©nage des lodges mĂ©riterait d’ĂȘtre un peu plus soignĂ©, notamment dans les recoins, il y a pas mal d’insectes. Enfin, le petit dĂ©jeuner est dĂ©posĂ© dans le rĂ©frigĂ©rateur, la veille en chambre, ce qui limite la qualitĂ© des produits. "
