À propos de cet hébergement

Magnolia Garden Home, Hot Tub, Private Garage, Walk to Metro, 4BR/4BA

  • A 1927 Foursquare home with real character — original trim, a layout full of personality, and a fully renovated kitchen. The kitchen and living/dining areas flow together in one open layout, ideal for hosting a group.

Guests have the entire main and upper floors: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a backyard built for lounging, with a private hot tub, hammock, tree swing under a magnolia, and a lighted deck with a picnic table and plenty of additional seating. A fully equipped yoga/workout space is tucked into the sun porch. For babies, a Pack 'n Play, high chair, changing pad and baby tub are provided.

    Why Guests Love It
✓ A private hot tub enclosed in a backyard, not a rooftop or shared patio
✓ Your own private garage — genuinely rare for a DC rental
✓ Open-concept kitchen and living space, perfect for groups and gatherings
✓ A yard made for hanging out: hammock, tree swing, and string-lit deck dining
    ✓ Authentic 1920s charm, not a cookie-cutter renovation
✓ Each bedroom equipped with a dedicated wall AC/heating unit for personalized climate control
✓ An 8-minute walk to the Metro, and steps from free pickleball, tennis, and a newly renovated playground and splash park

    Where You'll Sleep
    • Bedroom 1: A full/double bed in a spacious room with dresser and two light-filled windows with blackout curtains
    • Bedroom 2: A queen bed with a three-window view across the neighborhood, graced by a flowering crepe myrtle tree in summer
    • Bedroom 3: A queen bed in a room with sloped ceilings and a view directly into the canopy of a gorgeous Southern Magnolia Tree
    • Bedroom 4: A full/double bed with three light-filled windows (and blackout curtains) facing a flowering dogwood and a red Japanese maple.

    Sleeps 8 total.

    Neighborhood Highlights
Right Proper Kitchen for a real dinner with neighborhood-hangout energy, Cool Coffee for your morning coffee and pastries, and The Dew Drop Inn — Brookland's classic dive bar — for something with real character. Yes Organic Market is a block away, Trader Joe's just opened right here in Brookland, and the Historic Brookland Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings at the Arts Walk at Monroe Street Market. You're also on the same block as Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, with free pickleball and tennis courts, sports fields, and a fabulous, recently renovated playground and splash park. Walkable to Catholic University and Trinity Washington University, with Howard University, Gallaudet University, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center all a short trip away — great for campus visits, move-ins, conferences, or hospital stays. It's an 8-minute walk to the Brookland-CUA Metro station, connecting you to all of DC.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire main and upper floors — all 4 bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, living and dining areas — plus the backyard, hot tub, and garage. The host lives on-site in a basement unit with its own separate, private entrance, so there's no shared living space day to day. One closet on the main floor stays locked for hosting supplies and isn't part of the guest space.

The friendly host is available as much as you'd like her to be. You can self-check in and remain private, or enjoy a glass of wine and neighborhood recommendations from your host!

    Other Things to Note
    • No glass in the hot tub, please — plastic cups and pool towels are provided on the back porch
    • The garage fits vehicles up to 16 ft; longer vehicles can park just behind the garage
    • A few old-house quirks to expect: original hardwood flooring, radiator heat, era-appropriate outlet placement, a couple of characterful closets, and a clean but basic upstairs bathroom
    • We're on a route to the Children’s hospital, so you may hear occasional ambulances at night as rescuers bring sick kids to safety. (White noise machines provided for sensitive sleepers.)
    • Historic house, historic pipes: "flushable" wipes and tampons will cause a sewage backup!
    • Outdoor Quiet Hours: no music or shouting outdoors after 9pm—we have young neighbors next door!
    • Hosts live in the basement unit

For infants, we have a Pack ‘n Play, high chair, changing pad and baby tub in a bedroom closet for you.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and extra essentials are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals for your group. Thank you for staying at the Magnolia Garden Home!
