« I loved the quiet and calm atmosphere. The view was fantastic, and the batch had all the basics for a comfortable stay. It’s close to interesting towns and not far from the beach. Mark was considerate and easy to communicate with. Thank you I had a lovely, relaxing time at a good price. Highly recommend. »

« We loved our holiday at Hiwi. The location is stunning and secluded. The house is charming. We enjoyed it so much we booked for next summer as soon as we returned home. »

« This bach was the perfect base for our weekend in Whangarei Heads. Lovely views of McLeod's Bay and with the house backing onto the bush, we enjoyed seeing the native birds. We even thought we heard kiwi at night. The bach was just the right size for our family of two adults and two kids, very clean and tidy, and had everything we needed. The kids loved playing badminton on the front lawn. The owners were very responsive to all our questions, and gave detailed instructions on finding the bach...

« Wonderful location stunning views. Authentic kiwi beach bach wouldnt want it any other way. Exactly as described in the property description. Everything you ever needed was made available. A real home away from home. Comfy beds and awsome shower. Lori is a fantasic host and easy to communicate with. I wish her all the best for the future »

« Perfect spot to stay in amazing Matapouri. The house is pretty well equipped for large family or group. Large garden and deck are entertainer’s dream. Our toddler loved toys, trampoline and swings. Highly recommended! »

The space feels warm and welcoming, and the hosts, Jesse and Jeanie, were fantastic—friendly and thoughtful, keeping in touch to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. »

« The third 3 day stay of a 9 day holiday. The bach/chalet was well appointed, to a high standard, and suitable for couples. Set down a small track it is in a quiet location and is a good base to explore Whangarei heads and the adjacent coast. A pleasant and comfortable place for a long weekend. »

« Lovely bach, excellent location. Would love to make a suggestion to have some pedestal fans available to use at night for sleeping, it’s such a nice warm bach but unbearable for sleep…….we wished we’d brought our own fans. Also Bachcare sent us the wrong lockbox code but we’re lucky they answered the phone with the first call and rectified the problem. Thankyou to the owners for renting out their home so people like us can have a summer holiday at the best location!! »

« Although the NZ weather was not welcoming, the Barefoot Cottage made up for it. It is ideal for a couple, clean, tidy and an excellent view of the ocean. An easy walk to the nearby cafe and beach (if only it was beach weather). We would definitely stay there again. »
