Rodent in the Rental and Zero AccountabilityOur experience with Hill Country Premier Lodging was appalling. There was no warning in the listing that the driveway was unpaved and extremely rocky. One of our cars was damaged attempting to drive up, and we were forced to park at the bottom and hike a third of a mile uphill each time we left or returned—dangerous enough that one of our elderly guests fell and was injured.Inside the house, the plumbing was a disaster: one shower leaked into the bedroom below, and another barely had water pressure, making it unusable. What makes this worse is that other reviews noted similar water issues, and the company claimed they’d take the feedback seriously. Clearly, they did not.But the most repulsive issue of all was that we saw a rodent inside the home with our own eyes and found droppings throughout the property. A rodent infestation in a rental is not just disgusting—it’s a health risk. When we reported everything, Hill Country Premier Lodging was curt, unapologetic, and shockingly dismissive. They offered no refund, no compensation, not even a shred of accountability. I was even told by Laura (the only person we could speak with) I was being “insulting” for saying it was crazy to think a rodent didn’t warrant compensation. This company is unprofessional, careless, and dishonest. They ignore guest safety, fail to fix recurring problems, and refuse to take responsibility. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.
