My recent stay at Altus Wroclaw, a 5-star hotel, left me and my family thoroughly disappointed, especially considering the significance of the occasion – a double birthday celebration and the national day for Grandma. The experience fell far short of our expectations for a luxury stay.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Karolina, the supervisor at the reception desk, who was polite and offered a glass of sparkling wine. We had requested a later check-out, which was accommodated. However, our room, located next to the reception, raised concerns about privacy for my partner's birthday celebration. Although we did not voice our dissatisfaction at the time, we found it odd given the nature of our celebration.
The major setback came when we discovered the toilet in our room was with visible hygiene issues (it was not flushed). Despite informing the staff and sharing evidence, the proposed solution was limited to cleaning the toilet. We expected a 5-star hotel to offer more flexibility and options for resolving such issues, leaving us dissatisfied and perplexed.
Parking also became a source of frustration and miscommunication. We inquired about parking for our family dinner guests, and Karolina explained that while the hotel parking was for guests only if space permitted, our family could park there. This information, unfortunately, did not reach other staff members, leading to leading to a refusal for parking, even when spaces were available.
