I stayed at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel for two nights and had mixed feelings about the experience, therefore 3 stars. The hotel is beautiful and historic, and several staff members were excellent. The door staff, luggage service, and breakfast team were friendly, professional, and top-class. After check-in, I requested a room change due to significant street noise. The staff was helpful, and the second room was indeed much quieter. However, although I was told it was the same Superior category with the same bed type, the room felt noticeably smaller and less luxurious. Unlike the first room, the bathroom and toilet were not separated, and the overall sense of space and comfort was reduced. After the room change, I called the front desk to mention this. I was asked whether it was a “problem,” and since I did not want to be impolite, I did not label it as such at the time. At checkout, I was not asked whether everything was satisfactory, and the process felt rushed. I raised my concerns on my own initiative, but they were handled dismissively. I was told that next time I should communicate my preferences in advance, which felt contradictory, as I had already done so during this stay and my reasonable expectations were still not met. Overall, the hotel has many strengths, but consistency within room categories and the handling of guest feedback could be improved.

Wunderschönes Hotel in Top Lage

Ein grandioses Hotel wie es schöner nicht sein könnte. Ein Frühstücksbuffet mit riesiger, köstlicher Auswahl an Speisen. Dazu noch on top a la Card mehrere warme Frühstücksgerichte, die wundervoll angerichtet und hervorragend geschmeckt haben. Der Hotelstrand liegt in einer Bucht mit glasklarem Wasser. Die Bar,- und auch die Frühstücksterrasse haben einen atemberaubenden Blick aus Meer. Die Zimmer sind traumhaft eingerichtet. Es fehlt an nichts und ist absolut ruhig. Auf einer Skala von 1-12 ist dieses Hotel eine 20. Absolute Empfehlung. Wir hatten Zimmer 204.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time and were very satisfied again. The staff is extremely friendly and the hotel is very clean. Overall, we are very happy with our stay. The only small point for improvement would be the food selection – it could be a bit larger for vegetarians.
