Marina el-Alamein: Ferien in den Bergen

Stort resort med mange pools. Værelse med pooludgang var rigtig godt.

We just came back from a 4 day stay at Seven Seasons at the end of May 2024. El Alamein is an hour away from Alexandria, which wasn’t something we hadn’t fully realised until we got there. Also, it was not peak season so many things were not fully operating, like the Aqua Park. The apartment we stayed in was far away from the nearest pool so we needed to be driven there. The apartment, although nicely done up with modern facilities, was a little dusty when we got there and essential amenities listed on the website were missing, like shampoo etc. However, Dr Hassan was very helpful, he arranged a local driver, Alaa to transport us to and from the pool, get groceries, explore local area and to other parts of the marina. We did a day trip to Alexandria, which was amazing and also spent 2 days by the pool and marina (jet ski and speed boating). Language was a bit of an issue so we had to use a translator app. Dr Hassan regularly checked in with us. In the end, we actually had a great time and would highly recommend, but probably in peak season.

You can clearly see it is a five-star resort with various water-related activities: 2 massive swimming pools in perfect condition. A very nice water park, but not well-maintained. A private beach, which is clean, but for some reason, you can smell sewage !! Great food, great service, 5-star interior designs and furniture quality. The major 2 down sides: 1. You can see the facility has aged with subpar maintenance, especially to the water park and in the outdoor furniture. 2. They have to do something about flies. It was a true buzz kill, especially at the pool area.

Terrible over all experience. It is impossible to get to this place without going thru military security because it is very close to the president palace. The place and the staff are very nice. But unfortunately the room was 20 minutes walk to the beach. We had to wait for golf cart to pick us up everytime we want to go somewhere. Uber driver not able to find the place. And when they find it. They have hard time getting in because the security. It is very unfortunate.
