Enjoyable stay in a beautiful location
The house is a spacious, easy place for a fun stay on Kootenay lake. The property is easy to access with ample driveway and parking. The house, itself, seemed bigger than pictured, and there was ample space for our two families. The kitchen has everything you need. It felt private, though there are other properties along the road. The views of Kootenay Lake and surrounding mountain ranges are beautiful and easily taken in from the rear deck spaces. Though, it is notable that the water is not easily accessible from the property, but if you continue down the neighbourhood road you can find a more accessible way to the water. Also, Fletcher Falls, Ainsworth Hot Springs, and the charming town of Kaslo are all close by. We rented a Pontoon boat for two days from the Jones Boys boat shop, which is just 8 min away by car, next to the Woodbury Marina. The lake is huge, scarcely another boat around, and we had hours of fun out on the water and exploring the lakeshore offerings (beaches, cliffs, springs) near and far. Even in less than ideal weather (a little cold and rainy). The only downside to note is that you need to pack out your own garbage. The host supplied all the necessary information regarding where to bring the garbage, it was just a little hard with vehicles packed full of luggage and kids! We brought ours to the Balfour dump, which was easy enough to get to, as we were headed that way anyway. The host does take care of recyclables though, which was helpful.
