My wife and I were here 2 weeks in july-august witch our 4 children (22, 24, 26 & 28 yrs old) plus an extra boyfriend. That totals 7 adults.
Days at home (cooking, swimming and eating) were exchanged with trips (to the beaches, mountains & Alhambra).
We had a fantastic nice and quiet time. The kids made GT's and held table tennis competitions, swim competitions, we read books had wonderful discussions.
At night it gets really, really dark, you can see all the stars. Muriel and Laureano bought a guitar, so we enjoyed our own life music.
Dennis "the pool man" comes twice a week, and is very nice and helpful with all questions you might have.
The house itself is very well equipped and everything works as it should. The two kitchens are both nice and convenient, we used them both daily. Beds, shower, are good and in high standard, nothing to complain about.
I feel the house is very well suited for adults and parents with little children. I would not have gone there with teenagers longing for disco's and meeting the other sex, they'll be disappointed...
I wouldn't also recommend the house for people with an wasp allergy, there was nest nearby. They don't bother you, but I wouldn't want the risk (unless the nest is removed)
For everybody who seeks quietness, nature, food and cooking, relaxing in the sun and looking miles and miles away, this it the best house to book!!

The villa is everything that is advertised and we had a wonderful stay at Erase Una Vez. The villa has everything you could possibly want, including a welcome pack. There is a stock of herbs etc, as well as soaps, washing up liquids etc. The villa is off the beaten track, with some hairpin mountain roads, however the roads are fairly quiet. The pay-off is the privacy and the night sky is amazing - we could see the milky way, and had a fantastic show of a meteor shower over 4 nights during our stay. The pool is warm from 9 - 10 am, there is also an outdoor shower to wash the salt off. With there being 2 kitchens and 2 fridge-freezers, there was plenty of room for our food and drinks. We all enjoyed the ping-pong table outside. There is a pool table in the summer kitchen, but it probably doesn't have quite enough room around it, to play well. There is a Lidl in Albox, which is about a 40 minute drive. On the last few days of our stay, we went more inland and found a Mercadona in Puerto Lumbreras, which is easier to get to - the roads being so much better. Laureano was available if we had any problems, and helped make our stay very comfortable, a real pleasure to meet. A renovated monastery - Hospederia Santuario is a 10 minute drive, for a fabulous meal, call first though, to check when open. Bowleria in Albox for bowling and food was great too. Mojacar has beaches and is just over an hour away - the sea was fabulously warm.
Muriel & Laureano were extremely welcoming, communicative and generous hosts. They have thought of many things to make the stay more enjoyable and relaxing. They were extremely helpful before our arrival and gave excellent tips on the local area. The villa itself is in a remote location but you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views and zero light and noise pollution so itâs wonderful at night as well as in the day. The standard of the pool and pool area were exceptional and the plancha in the pool kitchen was a joy to cook on. We had two young children and both the villa and outside areas were great for adults and children. Highly recommend a stay here.
This house in the almond tree covered hills of Andalusia is a fantastic choice for everyone who loves nature, starry nights, remoteness and quietness. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. A big, clean and deep (at one side) pool offers a refreshing break from the Southern sun. The almonds were ripe, so we ate fresh ones every day. Also the house is offering a herbs garden which was a welcomed add-on to our fresh salads. The house itself offers everything we needed, including two bathrooms and one additional bathroom down by the pool! Enough towels for the three of us were provided, although we brought our own. The washing machine works well. The best was the amazingly clear nights with unpolluted views of the MilkyWay and Andromeda galaxy (we stayed in August). For everyone who is passionate about dark skies - this house is fantastic. At ~3000ft/1000m above sea level, the valley dust was well below us offering pristine views. Great place for astro-photography. And the hosts are amazing, too - great communication, superior customer support coming over to fix a minor issue we had with no hesitation. Even a welcome package and some drinks to get started with the vacation waited for us on arrival. And for the departure, at 5a.m. the host came by personally to say good-by! Very kind and sooo much appreciated! Communication by whatsapp throughout the stay worked very well. The pool is serviced two times the week and was advised in advance again by Whatsapp. Some of the best hosts we've had so far (and we are experiences vacation home renters). Oh, by the way - the beds are comfy (even for tall people) - and the master bed room has a funky colored blinking light - which we found out by accident on the last day - just try it - it's funny!
Overall, a very pleasant experience, and a big recommendation from us.
Thanks so much for everything!
Check out day having spent 2 weeks here. Absolutely wonderful stay. Very relaxing. Great communication with the owner over a very challenging time of the global pandemic. The villa is fantasticly equipped and lots of small touches makes it a home from home. Highly recommended indeed. Thank you
The major plus point for us was the extreme peace and quiet we enjoyed and the chance to wake up undisturbed by anyone or anything. Silence is so rare in our lives and the chance to experience it for two weeks was magical. All you can see are the mountains, sky and surrounding fields full of almond trees. All you can hear is birdsong and bees humming.
The villa is well equipped and I felt comfortable doing more cooking there than I normally would on holiday. Small touches such as an international adaptor, hairdryers and shopping bags were very useful, as was lots of English DVDs and Xbox games. There was a lot of international television but sadly nothing in English, however Netflix came to the rescue and worked well considering the remote location. As we went in mid-October we didn't use the pool room facilities, the plancha or the pool. The pool was delightful to look at but far too cold in October - we're not that hardy! so we'll have to go back to try it out.
Although there is sleeping space for 8, I would say there is only room for 4 adults comfortably in the villa, unless you spend all your time outdoors. Again, not a problem in summer.
It is worth emphasising the remoteness of the villa because with the beauty of the peace and silence comes a 25 minute drive before you reach civilisation. We loved being remote, but the practicalities of being so far away from everyone meant that we spent a lot more time driving than we wanted to (and we love exploring by car so that is saying something). The twisty mountain roads were also the cause of several bouts of travel sickness amongst us adults, particularly in the dark, so consider if this would cause you a problem. Be prepared for the last 200m to the villa which is an extremely steep, uneven track of stones so when hiring a car, make it something a bit more robust.
However this is a jewel of an area with plenty to do and places to explore, including Grenada and Murcia. We would definitely return. Thanks particularly to the owners for their prompt contact, extremely helpful and friendly approach and fast return of our deposit.
Fantastic 'well stocked' (as in cutlery/crockery/vinegars/spices etc etc) family villa (although there was only two of us - we love space to ourselves) - great place for cooking and eating outdoors. Pool area is amazing - views are spectacular and because surrounding villas are unoccupied we found the privacy - just the way we like it. Only down side for us as a couple - we choose not to cook for ourselves on holiday - tend to have jaunt out somewhere for a coffee - then back for lunch and relax (again) so found choices of where to eat on an evening (locally) very limited - either restaurant at the garage where food was OK and people very friendly - and patient with our attempts at Spanish with 'Google' - only other place was the nearby monastery just up the hill from the Villa - again food was OK - didn't find it outstanding as others had seemed to but again very friendly (menu only in Spanish - translation thanks again to Google) - We enjoyed the villa, had a lovely welcome from Mary who we by chance met up with at the garage restaurant on the Friday (festival night) and had a wonderful night with her and Carl enjoying their translations of locals conversations. Would I go back - YES - one thing to watch out for if you arrive on a Sunday afternoon there are NO supermarkets open in Albox to do your shopping - so shop a bit nearer to Almeria where there are some open. Otherwise it means a trip out the next day - which we usually like to keep as a total chill day. Overall a lovely relaxing place, and thanks to the owners there is nothing you will be short of. They have made a lovely haven with their care and love.
