The Potions Room - A Magical Hot Tub Hideaway

Welcome to our private hot tub hideaway in the heart of Alnwick. Immerse yourself in the wizarding world just 200m from Alnwick Castle, recognised as Hogwarts by legions of Harry Potter fans! Located right in the centre of town but hidden away in a quiet, secure spot in the former Half Moon Inn, most people don’t even know of our existence. This fun, themed home offers a unique place to stay and relax, and is an ideal base to explore the beautiful coast and countryside of Northumberland.

This is a spacious First Floor Flat, giving town centre accomodation but hidden behind the main street (and very thick walls!) to provide a quiet and safe home for guests with a pet friendly garden attached.

Accessed from the main street there is a stairway shared with two other flats leading to your own door. Inside you will find everything you need for a comfortable and memorable getaway. The lounge and kitchen are welcoming and modern, with an open plan layout and dining area too. There is a Smart TV for your own apps, a comfortable sofa and fully stocked kitchen should you wish to cook. The artworks inside are a nod to the history and beauty of the local area, many have been made and bought locally.

The showstopper upstairs is undoubtedly the bedroom: featuring a unique, king sized, four poster bed with full length curtains and decorated to a magically inspired "Potions Room" theme. This haven provides an escape from the everyday and a chance to let your imagination fly! The ornaments have been lovingly gathered and made by ourselves, including handwritten labels by my own Grandfather. Guests are encouraged to explore the decorations, take photos and have fun- but please remember they are breakable, not toys or safe to eat!

Outside there is a garden area which guests are welcome to use- there is seating and a table. Pets are welcome but guests must clean up after them. This garden area is owned by Flat One but the occupants of Flats Two and Three are welcome to use the space too, also including pets.

The hot tub is in a locked enclosure for privacy and only guests of The Potions Room have keys to this. There is space to hang towels and robes while you are out there. Full instructions for the tub are provided in the house guide book.

This is a full, private flat which shares an entrance hallway with 2 other private flats. The entryway is furnished and spacious, if needed (for example if the weather is bad) you are welcome to leave coats and boots out here to dry, so long as you don't block anyone else from getting through!

There is also a shared rear yard and garden you are welcome to use, the hot tub is in a private fenced area just for you. The yard area furthest from the back door is the designated smoking area for the property if needed.

The nearest full day parking is a free public car park about 2 minutes walk away, where you can leave a car for 24 hours max.

There is free parking for dropping off/unloading just 20 metres away from the door but it is 2 hours maximum stay during working hours and you must display a standard timer disc (we provide them to borrow, the space is unrestricted after 6pm and all day Sunday). After this there is plenty more free unrestricted parking on Northumberland Street or Howling Lane, which also has a second larger public car park.
