This is the second time we’ve stayed at this big tree getaway. We love the layout of this home, the huge deck & fun entertaining downstairs room that’s equipped with a pool table and huge big screen TV. This house has something for everyone. The neighborhood is very nice to walk around and all the neighbors are really friendly. I highly recommend this home!

The cabin was great the only issue was the massive amount of snow that fell causing us to lose power and eventually the battery ran out of power. All of which was nobody’s fault. All in all the cabin was great and the fact that we did have power for 36 hours after PG&E went out was wonderful.

Such a great, comfortable and beautiful house. We miss it so much. The main living room and deck are absolutely perfect and the bedrooms very comfortable. The downstairs "man cave" was phenomenal. The house is situated deep in a peaceful neighborhood with other homes close but not too close. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room to sleep. The house was equipped with everything we needed, including a potato peeler!

Weekend getaway

Celebrated our daughter’s 14th birthday in Arnold and boy did we enjoy our stay. The cabin was everything listed in the caption and so much more! Kitchen was fully stocked and all appliances worked. We felt at home and comfortable on all three floors. The decor was probably our favorite! We had so much fun finding all the unique lights throughout the cabin (very nice touch). Got good use out of the pool table as well. Well definitely be back.

Great house in a sweet spot

The house was exactly as seen in pictures and very clean upon arrival. It was HOT during our stay and I was concerned as this property does not have AC, but the mangers were wonderful in that they purchased additional fans for us to use (they were in all rooms and some rooms had two!). Communication was easy and efficient. We really enjoyed the downstairs "game room" space as it was cooler and offered lots of entertainment (games, movies and the pool table)! We had a great stay, despite the heat!

Lovely cabin

We stayed here with 5 adults and 4 children and we had the perfect amount of space. The kids loved the bunk beds downstairs and the pool table was a huge hit for all. The house is in a nice neighborhood and about a 40 minute drive to the mountain. We had all the kitchen supplies we needed to cook. We used the grill, which was nice, however the propane ran out after one use. The cabin was clean and well stocked except for trash bags. The trash situation was a bit of a problem, I'm not sure why there was no bear box outside but the process for trash was to either leave it inside or take it to another location outside the neighborhood. Other than that we enjoyed our stay immensely and will hopefully return again next year.

The mountain house was spectacular. It accommodated all of our group (originally 9 but only 6 attended). The kitchen was of sufficient size, double refrigerator w/bottom freezer. Toaster & small microwave, good selection of mixing bowls. Plenty of pots & pans (although I'm glad I brought some various sizes of frying pans). Stove & outdoor grill was very nice. The dining table handled our poker game very well. The window shades for the clerestory windows was unique! I appreciated the recliner as my back pain does not do well in a regular bed. Game room was great w/full size billiard table! The outdoor deck & table & chairs are very comfortable. There is no A/C!, also no salt & pepper shakers? I met the young cleaning lady when I returned to retrieve some shirts & told her how clean everything was & we appreciated her efforts.

Lovely setting in the woods

The house was wonderful! It was beautiful, with plenty of space for our family and in a location near Calaveras Big Trees State Park. We were ten people and there were large cooking pots and a well equipped kitchen. The deck was a highlight, spacious and looking out into the forest. The neighborhood was quiet and a pretty place to go for walks. One thing I was disappointed about was that when we got there, we found out there is no place to put garbage once the kitchen bag is full. Our host's instructions said the outdoor bear box/garbage receptacle was off limits; it said our choices for dealing with kitchen garbage were to either leave bagged garbage in our kitchen, or drive it down to the Avery Transfer station which was 18 minutes south. Since we were ten people staying five nights, it was not practical to walk around bags of garbage in the kitchen, which was also a thoroughfare. There was no other place to put it (outside not possible due to bears). I messaged the property manager thru the VRBO platform the second day of our stay to ask what other alternative there might be for garbage, but I never got an answer. I ended up driving some down to the transfer station, which was inconvenient, as it cut into our plans for the day. We also had some trouble with the lockbox jamming a few times and being hard to open. Other than these things, it was really an enjoyable stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check-in and communications were very easy and responsive. The location was nestled among the forest and so peaceful. We enjoyed the deck many times and the umbrellas were perfect and added to the ambiance. Plenty of kitchen and bathroom supplies, except we had some difficulty storing our provisions in the refrigerator/freezer and cupboards since the owner had many of their own things there.Since we couldn't put any trash outside for fear of critters getting into it, we had to make a temp space in the entryway to minimize odors in the rest of the house. Be aware that you will need to drop off the trash and recycling at the Avery dump. Because the weather was so hot it had a negative affect our our vacation and the fans were only minimally helpful and I seriously considered an early departure. The top level was unbearable and we could only tolerate the heat sitting on the bottom level. There are motion lights in the driveway which three bedrooms face and when they go off at night, it is very startling. So you have to sleep with the heavy blinds drawn which didn't help with the problem of air flow. Also, the two bedrooms on the main level contain a queen and king bed, not two kings.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived just after an early April snowstorm but roads had just been cleared so we didn't need chains. Available snow shovels helped us make fast work of clearing entire driveway for multiple vehicles.The house is clean and well-stocked. The furniture is attractive and comfortable, and since we had a group of 10 including several children we appreciated use of different levels of the house for different activities.The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare multi-course meals for our clan.The downstairs game room is stocked with several games and puzzles, in addition to a pool table and large screen TV for movies, etc. Its adjacent bunk area is perfect for older kids.The location is less than 5 minutes off Highway 4 and easy to get to; the driveway is gently sloped but not steep like some nearby.The neighborhood is very quiet and we found a lovely open area within a 10 minute walk for simple snowplay with our young children. Also, there were some trails for snowshoeing in that same area.Because of the recent storm, the deck had about 8-10 inches of fresh snow, perfect for our kids to play in without leaving the house. By the time we left 4 days later, it had all completely melted, but it was a lovely asset the first day or two.I highly recommend this home and we hope to return again. I think it would be lovely any time of year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our rental experience was great! I had to leave a thank you note on the counter top expressing our gratitude. Things were clean, just a bit of dried coffee or chocolate on the counter by the sink but not a big deal. We had issues with the coffee maker but managed. Other than that, my family loved the stay. We don't always get to go out all together as a family so this was nice. It was a bday celebration getaway for my husband, daughter n son. They enjoyed the man cave/studio. Played pool n games we had taken. I personally enjoyed the view from there. Especially the snow in th mountains. I’m originally from Chicago so this was a great treat! Time in the snow making memories & taking pictures! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home! ALL 5’stars for the questions!
