Grandma (me) and my three daughters and their families (12 of us) just spent a very special week here. The kids ranged from 4-15. We usually rent a beach home and decided to try something different. My grandchildren loved every moment spent there. We were there for seven days, and no one was ready to leave. We swam, and swam some more. They climbed trees, made smores, shot baskets and BB guns. We cooked out, and ordered food from the Chicken Coop (very good.) We put a giant family jigsaw puzzle together on the screened in side porch. They watched the little frogs, and fish in the lovely ponds. It’s a beautiful little farm, well furnished, comfy mattresses and lots and lots of towels! The kitchen had everything you could need, from a waffle maker, my grandkids favorite for me to make every morning to a great coffee maker( I worked for Starbucks for 13 years!) and a really nice blender. I found myself occasionally finding a nice rocking chair on a lovely porch for a little quiet time from the chaos known as my family. The hosts are exceptional and I promise you will love spending time, with the fragrance of fresh, floral air and the beauty surrounding you there at this special place.

Our getaway to celebrate our mom's 90th birthday was made all the more special by staying in this beautiful house. The property was lovely and comfortable, with ample space for 7 adults and plenty of indoor and outdoor locations for reading, lounging, and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool, the gardens, the birds, the comfortable beds, and of course the mountain views which captivated us every evening for sunset cocktails. The peaceful and serene vibe was just what we were looking for. Close by are lovely getaways into the mountains for hiking and exploring the beautiful area.

I, my wife, and 2 grandchildren had an absolutely grand time at the farmhouse. Older home that has been renovated to today's needs and wants was situated on a higher point offering great viewes day and night of the Blue Ridge mountains (could see muliple ridges). Pool was both relaxing and had plenty of floats, football and other items to keep us entertain. Speaking of entertainment the arcade in a rustic barn setting was so cool. Can't say enough about the property. For family or a group of friends this property would be a great place to unwind and enjot all the mountains of VA have to offer.

Our original vacation rental cancelled the day of check-in and this booking was a quick attempt to salvage our vacation…and did it ever! We had a great stay despite a loss of power (so thankful the owners have a generator and were extremely responsive to reporting the outage for us). The pool was fun, house had plenty of space, and the host had all the essentials plus some. Our plan B turned out to be just the plan we needed.

Our large family (15 people) gathered to celebrate a 70th Birthday! The house had plenty space so no one felt on top of each other. The kitchen had more than enough room to prepare meals. Both kids and adults enjoyed the pool area for countless hours each day. The fire pit area was perfect spot for an out door movie with smores (we brought a projector and screen). The pictures in the listing were 100% accurate and the communication with the host was very easy. We can’t wait to rent this house again!!

My husband, 6 month old, our dog and friends stayed for a week at this incredible property. The mountain views from the house, pool, barn, etc are better than anywhere we visited in the area and we didn't want to leave most days. We even had a local photographer come take family pictures! The pool, fire pit, making meals, and having a private chef (TJ, ask the owner for his info) come in to cook for us – each day was relaxing, cozy, and fun. The house is close to many things to do – 15 mins or less to wineries, breweries, cideries, grocery store, and antiques, but it feels incredibly private. The landscaping is beautiful too – the koi pond and all the different plants around the property were so pretty. The beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked, the washer and dryer came in handy, and the pool was such a treat. By day two of our trip we were already talking about how and when we could come back. The host is very responsive – we needed more firewood and the pool vacuum stopped working and the host was very quick to bring in more wood and come resolve the issue with the pool. We paid the fee to have the pool heated and it was well worth it – I do not like cold water at ALL and it was the perfect temperature. We got to swim with our baby in the pool each day and that was super special. Overall we made so many memories and can't wait to go back!

We have stayed multiple places over the last few years and this was a truly amazing experience. The communication with the owner was quick and helpful. The views were top notch. We had a group with ages ranging from 2 to 65 and everyone enjoyed his/her stay. Also the pool was heated to a perfect temperature that the kids could enjoy it morning and night!

This farmhouse is the perfect place to unplug. The views, the house and the pool made our trip complete. Kyle is such a welcoming host and he provides everything you would need for a quick getaway. We cannot wait to return!

We stayed in the middle of winter but still found the house/property enjoyable even though it was cold outside. The house is very spacious with large bedrooms and kitchen area. There are several spaces dedicated for children too (we were all adults). The hosts went above and beyond and left a s'mores basket on the counter, which was fabulous! We brought food to cook for the meals but completely forgot about s'more supplies for the bonfire. The mountain view was great and we witnessed two beautiful sunsets. We are thinking we need to go back again when the pool is open. :-)

Our stay at the farmhouse was amazing!!! The house was beautiful, nicely decorated and spotless!! We loved cooking in the big country kitchen and sitting by the wood stove in the evenings after a busy day outside. The bedrooms were nice in size and beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for the 12 of us. We had everything we needed. The property was very private, only hearing an occasional moo in the distance from the surrounding farm. Stargazing was amazing while sitting outside by the large fire pit enjoying a glass of wine and making s’mores. The sunsets, mountain and pastoral views were breathtaking!!! Thank you so much Krystal and Kyle for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We will be back!!

Home was beautiful and exactly as described. Property is gorgeous and views of mountains and evening sunsets were heart-stopping. Extra bedroom in barn was very nice and heater worked well. (The debate has already started with who will get to use it next time... note: 1/2 bath only, no shower in barn though - so need to use house). Owners very responsive.

This was a lovely, clean house with beautiful outdoor amenities. A group of four couples stayed the weekend and enjoyed the vastness of the property and privacy of the space that was close to the wine/beer trails. We plan to return in the future!

A big farmhouse with all of the amenities. Great place for kids and adults! Kitchen is well equipped and surrounding property is beautiful. We had 8 adults and 3 little children and had plenty of room. The bunk bed room was a huge hit!

We had a wonderful time at this property. 3 generations with small children. The kids loved the frog pond, the fish pond, and we all loved the heated swimming pool. The porches were liked by all , and the sunsets were beautiful. We really didn’t leave the property for 5 days. The owner was very attentive to our needs also.

Gorgeous views just as stated in the listing. Property was perfect for our group looking for a quiet getaway -very secluded, peaceful and relaxing. We loved trying to find the shooting stars at night around the fire pit. House was clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed for the week. Owner was very quick to respond with any questions we had and helpful if we had issues. Our only small suggestion would be to update the pots and pans in the kitchen. We would definitely go back!

I booked this property for my husband's 30th birthday with some friends. To say that this property is immaculate and wonderful is an understatement. The views of the mountain are unbearable, the house is stunning, and the grounds are impeccably maintained. We had a blast in the pool all day and having fires at night. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to stay again in the future so we can explore more! I cannot recommend this property enough!

We had a wonderful time renting this beautiful property for our family vacation! The owners are very attentive to detail and seemed to have thought of every little thing. They're also very friendly and responsive when needed! Our favorite part was the time we spent time in the amazing pool every single day during our week-long stay. The location is also convenient for lots of hiking and wineries!

I truly can’t say enough about Elmwood Acres. I booked this stunning farmhouse for a surprise engagement weekend. The property, views, barns and farmhouse itself were more than I could have imagined. It was so spacious, beautifully renovated with still the most rustic appeal. None of us wanted to leave. Krystal and Kyle were so sweet, genuine and helpful. We hope to make Elmwood Acres a yearly reunion for our group. Just a magical place.

This Mountain Farmhouse was amazing! The views were spectacular and the entire property was serene. The main house was perfect for our family and friends and the kids loved the play house and barn. You get the sense of being off the grid while at the same time being close to Wintergreen, wineries and breweries, and great hikes like Crabtree Falls. Krystal and Kyle made this experience very seamless and were quick to respond to all of our questions. I would recommend this for families and groups of friends looking for a mountain retreat. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was absolutely fabulous! Our entire group was blown away at how stunning the views are and how well appointed the property is. There is so much to do and I wish we had had more time to enjoy it all! We stayed in January, so we didn't utilize the pool, but it looks amazing and there is an adorable trail of lights leading down to the koi pond that lights up at night. The area has tons of wineries and breweries to explore as well as great hiking trails. The master bedroom has a beautiful view when you wake up and the soaking tub is a dream! The barn bedroom is great if you want a unique experience and some privacy from the main house. We could not have been happier and would absolutely come back. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating and the place was very clean. Overall a 10/10!
