I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Northlake (in Tucker, near Northlake Mall) and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I booked through Expedia, which clearly stated free breakfast was included – turns out that’s not the case here. The hotel charges for breakfast at the Bistro, and no one at the front desk seemed to know anything about third-party bookings or inclusions. It took two phone calls to the desk (where they were clueless) and then a frustrating conversation with the manager just to get some resolution. This wasted a chunk of my vacation time dealing with basic misinformation.
The room itself was poorly maintained. The phone in the room didn’t work at all – completely dead, which is inconvenient for something as simple as calling the front desk.
The bathroom was even worse. The ceiling paint was peeling and falling off in chunks – looks like water damage or just neglect over time.
There was also hair already in the shower when we arrived – gross, especially since the room was supposedly “ready” before check-in.
