A great place to unwind
My family and I had a weekend getaway here. We enjoyed the house, the board games, and exploring the property. If you’re in need of some relaxation and quiet this is a great place to do it. The driveway is very long, just keep going, you’ll get there. The Austin dam is minutes down the road, the Potter County Pub is 10 minute drive and a great place for food and drinks.

Family August Vacation, August 2023
We had an awesome vacation, and made wonderful family memories! Chris, our host, was amazing. On our arrival, we got lost finding the lodge, and Chris was quick to answer our phone call and make sure we arrived safely. The lodge was just as described, and you could tell the owners added the right touches to make for a great stay. Unfortunately, we didn't have the best weather, but we were able to see the starry skies one evening, and it was stunning! The viewing area is well maintained with lots of space. During the day, we went fishing and hiking. I highly recommend the covered wagon tour in Wellsboro, about 45 mins away. So much fun! We will definitely visit again! (5) Stars!! The Cardon Family

Beautiful cabin
We loved this cabin. It was a rainy weekend but there were so many things to discover in the cabin! We played board games and foosball. Then we took a quick hour drive to Benezette to see elk. The kids couldn’t wait to get back to the cabin. Thanks Chris

This was the escape we needed
The wife and I loved the firepit and star field. The sky was gorgeous and we saw a good number of meteors. The cabin itself is also beautiful. There were a few stray dog-hairs here and there on some blankets, but the place was very clean and did not smell like animals at all. They do not provide firewood, but you can buy some from stands along the road not too far from the cabin. Zero regrets about staying here.

We love Blue Sky Lodge!
We've stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals and Blue Sky Lodge is one of the best! The setting is very quiet and secluded and you won't hear or see another human while you're there. The stone driveway is steep but manageable. The cabin was clean and comfortable and we love the porch and outdoor areas. We spent a lot of time at the firepit and the dogs loved to run around and smell the wildlife in the stargazing field. There was a steady stream of deer past the cabin all weekend and we also saw turkeys and a young fox while walking the trails. As secluded as it feels, it's only 7 minutes to Austin if you need basic supplies or 15 minutes to Coudersport. Highly recommended!

A gorgeous, secluded woodland paradise!
We booked this cabin for three people to have a birthday celebration, and it was even better than expected! It is a beautiful property, so carefully curated for a comfortable/fun stay. Some things I considered when looking for a place to stay and my experience with them: General comfort level - 10/10!! The couch/chairs are very cozy, there's a huge selection of blankets, the beds are SO comfortable, and they provide plenty of towels. The hot water never ran out and there was great water pressure. Entertainment - Very fast WiFi, it worked great! The TV worked perfectly and had an hdmi cable, and the bar area was full of games. Some really cool games too! Privacy - again, 10/10! You can't see another house from the cabin or from the firepit - so if you're looking to get away from crowds this place is amazing. The viewing field is better than pictures can show! They also provide plenty of things to cook with (extras like a waffle maker, crock pot, blender, ice trays!) so that you can hunker down and be self sustaining. Such a huge plus! Star viewing - I sadly cannot comment on this because our stay was overcast the whole time, but I have every reason to think it would have been incredible. Before the trip I thought if I didn't get to see the stars I would feel the trip wasn't worth it, but the beauty of the surrounding area and the perfect setup of the cabin proved me wrong and I still had one of the best weekends of my life. I obviously 100% recommend staying here, I don't know anything they could do better or provide that they don't!

Quiet and Secluded
The accommodations were very comfortable. While the surroundings were quiet and secluded, the small towns of northern PA were close by and we could enjoy shopping and dining there without spending all day driving around. The firepit and stargazing field were great. One word of advice: if you're really there to see the stars, be sure to schedule to be there during the new moon.

Absolutely loved it
This place is even better than the reviews suggest. It’s on an absolutely beautiful piece of property with miles of trails. The stargazing field was perfect for yard games in the afternoons and spreading out a blanket to look at stars at night. It’s definitely rural, but we brought lots of food and drinks and hunkered down and just had the most perfect stay. It has everything you would need for a stay and was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Amazing Star Gazing Site
This property is amazing and secluded from everything. Perfect Getaway to view the Milky way in the 10 acre field and secluded in the woods. The house is clean and filled with a cabin vibe like no other. Definitely would love to return and experience.

Best getaway experience
We got to see an insane amount of stars, relax, cook out, and have fires without seeing another person the entire stay. The location of this cabin is unreal. The pictures truly don’t do this place justice. It’s beautiful and a great getaway for the family. Super easy to get in touch with management as well! We had a great time and we will be back.

Great location, private setting
The house is set back into the woods offering complete privacy to unwind. Wifi access was a plus when wanting to connect with the outside world. Communication with owner was great. House was generally clean and the upstairs bedrooms and family room was were we mostly occupied. The downstairs had a strong smell and we were happy the bedrooms upstairs were able to accommodate the size of our family so nobody had to stay in the bedroom on the ground floor. Unfortunately, the guests before us didn’t do a great job cleaning up their kitchen usage and put some of the pots and dishes away with food still on them. We cleaned the kitchen items we used before we used them and we didn’t report the issue to the owner as it was really just a minor inconvenience. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider renting again if we found ourselves visiting the area again.

Peaceful and relaxing, beautiful starry nights
The cabin was clean and comfortable. Very quiet and private. We stayed for four nights and wound up having three nights of completely clear skies with bright stars and the Milky Way rising in the wee hours of the morning. We were able get stunning photos of the night sky. During the day, there are several nice hiking trails within about an hour’s drive.

Beautiful remote cabin
The rental process went smoothly. The cabin is beautiful, the kitchen well stocked, and the sleeping arrangements very comfortable. The only downsides in my opinion were the driveway is long and steep and not well marked... a little tricky in a minivan but we made it. I didn’t mind the lack of WiFi but did have to go out on the deck to even get a minimal signal with Verizon. Love going off the grid but would prefer a little more accessibility just in case of emergency. We did not have clear skies unfortunately, so not many stars, but the field would have been beautiful on a good clear weekend I suspect.

Great place to get away!
This house was a lot nicer than other houses/cabins I’ve stayed at. It felt very clean, had nice amenities, and the property is huge and felt very secluded. It’s also decorated nicely with real forest-y and cabin vibes. We went in the fall and the trees on the property and surrounding area were beautiful! I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to be comfortable, unplug (no WiFi!), and enjoy a nice open fire.

5 Night Stay - August 2019
Let me start by stating that there are some things needing addressed at this property, such as: - The shower stall downstairs is not usable since the drain is clogged; it almost overflowed after only running the water long enough to get warm. - There are obvious water issues in the lower level as it is very damp and musty smelling. Water damage is already visible in the downstairs bathroom; if not corrected, it’s going to do long term damage to this cabin. - Because cell phone reception is so poor at this location (FYI: Verizon works on the deck and stargazing field!), it’s awesome that the owner provides a landline, but the cordless phone’s battery pack needs replaced very soon. It beeps “low battery” shortly after being taken off the charger base. - The ceiling fan upstairs isn’t working properly (doesn’t spin) and lightbulb is burned out. - The grill is disgusting and very used and desperately needs replaced. - The 2 armchairs upstairs need replaced. The padding is so worn, the wood frame underneath jabs you in the back. - While the kitchen is nice, some amenities need replaced, such as the can opener, knives (all are dull), and no measuring spoons. I don’t want to “nitpick”, but at $370/night + taxes/fees, certain expectations should be met. My husband, mother and I spent a relaxing 5 nights at this, overall, lovely secluded cabin in the woods. It is situated perfectly for amateur astronomers such as myself seeking a dark sky experience. Even though only 2 of the 5 nights were clear for observing, with the naked eye we were able to see a plethora of stars and the Milky Way, and with my 6” Dob telescope, we were able to view a number of celestial objects, including galaxies and globular clusters thanks to the New Moon! Aside from the stargazing field, there are quite a few other perks about this rental: - It’s pretty clean, cutely decorated, and feels ”homey” - Although the cabin doesn’t have central air, because of it’s high elevation and being surrounded by trees, it stays comfortably cool inside. There’s also a window A/C unit in the master bedroom upstairs. - The beds/mattresses are comfortable - Lots of towels and washcloths are provided - The on-site washer & dryer unit is very convenient - The upstairs is great for hanging out, especially the bar. And the wrap around deck is great for relaxing w/plenty of seating. Overall, we had a great time at this cabin in the Austin/Cherry Springs area and plan to return!

Beautiful cabin and skies!
It was good to spend some time in the woods and get away from our electronics for a few days. The cabin was great and supplied everything you might need (it was nice to not have to worry about packing bedding, towels, kitchen tools, etc.). And, the skies were just incredible. We had a very relaxing trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We definitely plan on returning some day!

Beautiful cabin, excellent star gazing
Our family stayed at Blue Skies Lodge in June 2018 and everything was perfect. Cabin is beautiful and has everything you need on hand, other than food. We had excellent star gazing in the field near the cabin. Made s'mores over the outdoor fire pit. Watched DVDs on hand, played cards and games. Enjoyed the "off the grid" experience of no cell service, no wi-fi. Thank you for sharing our cabin.
