This is my first and last rental with Vacasa. If I were VRBO, I would consider not letting them list on this site because they do not respond or service renters. The same way a bad actor on other sharing economy platforms harms trust--I believe the same applies here. What happened? Upon arrival, we found the garage door to be broken. This is one of the main reasons we rented this house. I reported it...and heard nothing for 24 hours. I followed up with Vacasa again. They said they'd reported it to the local manager. Long story short - I didn't hear from anyone until 5 days later after I checked out. Luckily we were able to make the parking in the driveway work (despite 1-2 times we had to ask the neighboring unit to move their cars off our side). But I just wonder... had something gone terribly wrong, would Vacasa have handled in the same lackadaisical way? Also, the garage door was VERY broken. Why not send a heads up before check in?
Regarding the home, it is a nice layout with every space being bigger in person than in the pictures. Our group of 6 could spread out and enjoyed the TV set up, hot tub, location. However, it's old (like many places in the neighborhood) with very thin walls, drain stoppers missing in bathrooms, wear and tear on most materials. I chalk this up to being dog-friendly, and we were happy to have our 2 dogs with us. Note - the bathroom off the loft space is not fully enclosed; there is a gap between the wall and the ceiling. And if you're looking to cook--prepare for haphazard selection of pots, pans, tools (or bring your own). So... would I rent here again? If it was the only dog-friendly option and Vacasa was no longer the manager...maybe.
