« The 18th century appearance of this inn evokes old style romanticism. The bar and dining area reflect the same. The food is honest pub fare. The room still smelled fresh from a recent renovation. The room was clean and the super king bed was very comfortable. Definitely worth the visit and keenly priced. »

« Nous avons eu la chambre N°1 qui est vraiment agréable avec un grand lit confortable. Idéal pour se reposer après une journée de marche. Le soir nous avons diné à l’hôtel en ayant réservé une table. Nous avons attendu 30 minutes avant que quelqu'un prenne notre commande. Et j'ai été déçu par la nourriture, sans doute que je m'attendais à quelque chose d'une plus grand qualité dans ce genre de cadre. En conclusion c'est un lieu vraiment chouette et typique pour séjourné, mais ma mauvaise...

« Accueil très sympathique, nous n'avons pas dîné à l'hôtel car nous avions rendez-vous ailleurs, mais le menu semblait très bien. Un lit king size plus en fait un atout particulier. Le déjeuner peut être Anglais ou continental. Si nous avions pu rester la journée suivante nous aurions demandé si nous pouvions y passer une nuit supplémentaire. »

« Very kind staff for both the stay and dinner, accommodating for requests. The room had a cozy classic vibe and remodeled recently. The inn is right in the center of the town and very walkable with lots of little places around for food and shopping. The food at the attached restaurant was fantastic all around! »

« The hotel was lovely, the staff couldn't do any more to help us. The breakfast was very superior to any that we have had in a long time. Our room had an en-suite, coffee making facilities, hair dryer and one heck of an awesome view of the dales. The best part for us both was that they had a bar, so we could venture out during the day and rewind with a few drinks with our dinner. »

« Réservé la veille pour un prix sympathique de 58livres pour une chambre de trois personnes. Pour ce prix nous avons eu une bien jolie chambre confortable. Très contents ! »

« A lovely stay, very close to Alton Towers. The staff were lovely & the continental breakfast varied & suited us well. The rooms are separate "chalets" with allocated parking spaces next to each front door. We were concerned that staying in a pub may be noisy, but had a very peaceful night's sleep! The beds were very comfy & the family room spacious enough for 2 adults & 2 teenage kids (as long as they are happy in bunk beds!) The rooms are very dated & could do with a freshen up. « It's such a lovely spot and the room was spacious, super clean and with a view out to the lovely surrounding area. The bed was also very comfy and the pillow too, and this from someone who is princess and the pea with her pillows! I also got a really great rate for my one night stay. »

"Rooms a bit dates and nothing special at all for the price. Better options nearby. I have a habit of staying here regularly when in Sheffield on business as I have done so for years...and have stuck with it because of on-site parking and ease of access etc. However, the parking is now managed via a 3rd party and if you leave the car park for an hour and come back it's a pain, as there are just 2 payment rates (£12 day rate/£18 overnight). There is a way around it by explaining to reception each time but I just found it badly managed and impractical. Executive rooms are basically standard rooms with a coffee machine and a bathrobe. Breakfast is good. Shop nextdoor is handy, and a good range of restaurants nearby"

"Accueil très chaleureux. Piscine marqué compris dans la chambre sur hôtel.com est très chère (25£ tôt le matin £60 le reste de la journée et il faut réserver). Toilettes pas propre en arrivant, bichon d'évier cassé et fuite dans le bain. Restaurant en sous effectif et la serveuse n'était pas au courant des produits. Menu très limitée et pas possible de mettre le repas sur la chambre. Odeur de friture dans la chambre et très bruyant. Pas possible de balader autour de l'hôtel."
