Terrific apartment with spotty WiFi and difficult entry door.
Entry to the building requires an app accessed with a data plan or wifi. THERE IS NO WAY TO ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT USING THE APP. To enter the apartment itself there is a code that can be used without the app. The app worked when we first entered the building and apartment but when we left the apartment to buy groceries, the app did not work when we tried to get back in. There is an emergency number but you need phone service to call and it is not available using WhatsApp. I do not travel with phone service as my US provider charges $12/day for phone service. I did have to resort to turning on my phone (being billed $12) to call the emergency number at about 11:30 at night when we were locked out with a non-functioning app. Someone came and used a master code to let us in. I showed him the non-functional app and he said "that's not possible", yet when I opened the app, all I got was a blank screen. That was not the end of our issues with entry to the apartment. The door handle has to be revolved several times to unlock the apartment door. Even with the app functioning, the handle was not always responsive and we had to use the app several times to get the door to open. During business hours I could text with the manager and get help with the door but it was very frustrating not being sure that we could enter the apartment every time we went out. The other issue we had was that the wifi was spotty. It would come and go and we could not depend on it.
