This was our first time staying in this area. We usually stay closer to Blue Ridge. The area is quaint and woodsey. Very quiet. The site host is pleasant and very helpful if you have questions. The cabin itself was clean and had silverware and dishes as well as some snacks like popcorn and hot chocolate etc. There is a nice deck attached that spans 2 full sides of the cabin and a fire pit outside with a hearty stack of wood provided. The front steps were not very well lit, so you may want to bring a flashlight if you plan on arriving late or returning late from a jaunt over the mountain. This location is very convenient to the Ocoee and is only about 5-10 minutes to the first overlook at Dam #1 and about a total of 30 minutes of beautiful road to the welcome center where the Olympic rafting events were held in '96.
Although we are typically used to larger properties at this price point, we are aware that it is currently peak season because of the leaves turning and the higher volume of tourists visiting at this time drives up the cost of staying in the area.
There is just about any place you would like to eat within about 20 minutes or so from the cabin or, since you have a stove and fridge, you can go to one of a few grocery stores and stock up.
Or you can do like we did and cruise on over to McCaysville or Blueridge, which is about 50 mins to an hour away, and have a meal in one of the many restaurants there.
In summary, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone who is staying in the Cleveland Tennessee area.
