The Dude Rancher is a great choice in Billings if youâre looking for a hotel with old western charm and reasonably priced. The room we had was clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed. The only minor issue was the toilet would run (stopped by fiddling w/ handle). Probably the best amenity is the $8 dollar morning breakfast. The dining area is great and the four menu options are awesome. Poor Tina had to work hard to keep up with all the hotel customers. One other recommendation for the hotel is to put some ash stray stands outside the rooms and sweep up the cigarette butts. Nothing against smokers but it takes away from the cleanliness feeling. All in all, fun place to stay in downtown Billings.
Hillary at the front desk was so friendly and helpful when checking in to our hotel room. She asked for my name and handed my husband 2 keys to our room on the ground floor, which we so appreciated because we're both in our mid-60s and we don't like climbing stairs!
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is a little on the small size but we managed to get around anyway.
The morning breakfast was splendid and large portions of hash browns, 2 eggs cooked and any way you want, 3 slices of thick bacon, and 1 sausage, and 4 choices of bread/toast. All for $8!
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for the price.
Nice staff and great location for walkable access to anything interesting downtown. Easy parking and Comfy bed. Small and dated room but looks like upgrades are in progress.
The property is sort of quirky and is basically good but needs a little TLC and updating.
It definitely has character and the staff were excellent,
The breakfast is good value at $8 but is really only average in terms of quality.
Good if you like hotels that are not cookie-cutter modern chains but it does feel a little in need fo some TLC
Breakfast restaurant needs more staff. Just one lady took care of all guests. She tried her best but just one person on the floor wasn't enough. I felt bad...
Whats not to love about a well-preserved, iconic facility! It may have seen better days, but it was a fun stay. The staff at breakfast were amazingly accommodating. Would definitely stay again...for the experience.
This was one of the more affordable options in Billings at the time we booked! The retro building is very well kept!! The history behind it is so cool. Added bonus the beds were comfortable and the room was very clean! Highly recommend taking a step back in history with this stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
I booked this property because of the excelent reviews. I was quite disappointed. The property has not been kept up. The bathroom at one time had been painted over wallpaper by someone who didn't know how to paint and since then has been banged up. Rustic ambiance does not replace regular maintenance.
The staff was EXTRAordinary! I had a medical emergency while I was staying here that required an ambulance. The front clerk actually offered to watch my Shiâtzu for me, so I had one less worry. Never in a million years would I expect something that kind from any hotel stay. BRAVOđđđđđ
