A TALE OF STONE SUSPENDED ABOVE THE LAKE

Hidden among the narrow lanes and lush vegetation of the ancient village of Blevio, Villa La Solitaria appears like a residence belonging to another time. Built in 1890 and set on the hillside overlooking Lake Como, it possesses an unmistakable soul, shaped by stone, light, and objects that seem to carry stories from distant lands.

Its architecture is instantly recognisable: exposed stone walls, generous arched openings, and the distinctive crenellated tower that guides guests between the different floors give the villa the charm of a small fortified residence. As you move through the tower, each level unfolds like a new chapter, while the lake continually reappears through windows, balconies, and the greenery of the garden.

The interiors are the result of encounters, journeys, and cultural influences. Antique furnishings, carved woods, copper, wrought iron, natural fibres, and textiles sourced from different parts of the world coexist with contemporary elements in a surprisingly harmonious balance. Nothing appears to have been chosen merely for decoration: every piece of furniture, mirror, and fabric contributes to an atmosphere that is cultured, intimate, and deeply personal.

On the entrance level, there is a cosy sitting room, a double bedroom, and a bathroom. Ascending through the tower leads to two additional double bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms and enhanced by glimpses of the lake and the surrounding nature.

Descending to the lower floor reveals the heart of the villa: a spacious living area framed by ancient stone walls and luminous arched French doors, with an open-plan kitchen and dining area. From here, the eye travels through the interiors towards the garden, where stone terraces, mature trees, and secluded corners dedicated to relaxation appear to hover above the water. An additional guest bathroom is also located on this level.

Outside, the villa invites guests to experience the lake slowly: lunches beneath the shade of the trees, peaceful afternoons in the sun, and sunsets that transform the water into a golden expanse.

The property is arranged over several levels, connected by its distinctive internal tower and staircases.

To reach the villa, guests must walk for approximately 5 minutes slightly uphill through the charming lanes of Blevio’s historic village.

The property does not offer private parking.

Access to the top of the tower will only be available during check-in, accompanied by a member of our staff.

For payments exceeding €1,500, bank transfer will be required as the only accepted payment method.
