„Lovely traditional Lakes coach inn in great setting close to Bassenthwaite although no view of the lake itself. Service was a bit archaic but I’m putting this down to because it felt like everyone was new? The original historic snug bar is the best feature within but it is clear they are more focused on servicing the relatively new restaurant bar area. Free parking and WiFi. Cooked breakfast was fantastic as was dinner … but … why oh why would you feature Nothumbrian sourced ingredients in the ...

„It was a great stay with very good Food and very kind staff. We will definitely come back!“

„Freundliches Personal und gutes frühstück. Saubere Zimmer mit komfortabler Ausstattung “

„Stayed five times, excellent hotel fro a short break away .“

„Alles bestens, Danke“

„I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.“

„Great B&B with a lovely host, beautiful location, very nice room, delicious breakfast- everything was perfect, will definitely come again. “

„Staff very welcoming. Food really nice and very filling. Perfect stay for us. Thankyou“

„This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed. The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell. But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.“

„The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly ...

„Beautiful hotel although it feels more like a home than a hotel. Very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Every room beautifully decorated. Bedroom suites are large and comfortable. 3 restaurants to choose from all excellent. Our stay was during“
