Perfect location in town

Beautiful well equipped place. Tons of attention to detail as a host. Most stocked kitchen I’ve even rented. We didn’t bring our dog this time but tons of accommodations for dogs including rag towels for them in the laundry room. We used the beach towels provided which were a saving grace. Cleaning supplies, garbage bags, different oils, ziplock bags and teas were available. Very impressed. We’d love to stay again

Buddy's is the premier location to stay in Boothbay!! If you are traveling with your dog, you will feel most welcome. The home is gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, from napkins to ziplocs and lobster crackers. Views are amazing and the location is perfection. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for having us!

BEST Vacation Rental- ever!!

Perfect stay, two floors, lots of space for all ages. Bunk room and million dollar bedroom were unexpected! Thoroughly thought out floor plan, great kitchen, deck, dining and great room areas. Wonderful property

Loved this property..great location..close to all shops and restaurants! Beds comfortable, soft linens, plenty of towels and a well-stocked kitchen which was a delight to cook in it. Enjoyed the outside patio for viewing and casual dining. Really had a wonderful stay!

Fantastic Property in Boothbay Harbor

Buddy's Barrel House is just about perfect. The century old home is renovated beautifully with no detail regarding comfort or quality overlooked. We loved the location just steps from the thriving Harbor town of Boothbay Harbor with access to many excellent restaurants and shops. I think that the property would work well for most groups with the exception of someone who requires handicap access. I am looking forward to returning there again.

Perfect Spot and Beautiful Home

This home was perfect for our stay in downtown Boothbay Harbor. It is a block to the waterfront, and all the shops and restaurants are at your doorstep. Aside from the perfect location, the home is beautifully designed. Every detail has been considered (even in the architecture and decorating), and all amenities are provided, tons of towels, even a bluetooth speaker to connect for music. There is laundry on the bottom floor of the shared entrance, but we were the only ones using it and it was not an issue to be on the first shared floor. The kids/bunk room had plenty of space for our pack and play for our infant, night lights, etc. Two parking spaces right in front of the unit is also a premium in Boothbay Harbor, as general parking is hard to find. This is a major plus. We will definitely stay in this unit again on our return to Boothbay. Thank you!

Dream stay at Buddy's Barrel

My family has vacationed in Boothbay Harbor for 40 years staying in various rentals, but Buddy's Barrel takes the cake! We have admired the property for years and watched the meticulous renovation process. The stars aligned and we were able to make this dream location part of our first vacation since covid. HIGH expectations, I know, but it did not disappoint! Our party of five ranged from age 72 to 5. All of us found different delights in the property and were very comfortable during our stay. It's obvious from the pictures that no expense was spared in the design of Buddy's Barrel. Once there, it became more obvious of its quality, especially in the furniture, the mattresses and their bedding. We all commented on how well we slept. And our 5 year-old loved the novelty of sleeping in the bunk bed room. The owners have great attention to detail when thinking of their guests' comfort (quality bath towels, a welcome gift, a well-stocked kitchen, and the aforementioned bedding). The owners were also thinking of their canine guests, too. When we originally booked the place, we thought our 11 year-old English bulldog would be joining us. He passed in March, but he would have been so cared for at Buddy's Barrel, for there were dog bowls, leashes, treats, and a dog bed (in a barrel) waiting for him. They thought of everything. It was meant to be though because the stairs from the front door to the apartment would have been a challenge for him. One of our favorite parts of the property was people watching from the deck. You can't beat the location for watching the bustle of Boothbay Harbor on a summer's afternoon. It was delightful to park the cars and walk to all the restaurants and shops. We were concerned about the possibility of excess noise at night, but it turned out to be not an issue. The owners were quick to respond when we texted about a faulty curtain rod (design flaw that is not their fault). We were able to secure it on our own, but the owners were ready to send someone out if we needed it. Given the opportunity, our family would definitely choose Buddy's Barrel again.

July Vacation

Enjoyed the in town location! Property is very convenient to everything in town and don’t have to worry about parking since space provided for tenants. Reservations went smoothly and the accommodations were clean and very comfortable. Having AC was nice for warm nights and sitting out on deck was great for people watching. We would definitely stay here again!

Would have been 5 star review, but Turnkey Property Management made it 3 stars.

If it wasn't for a very unpleasant, intrusive, and completely unnecessary experience with Turnkey Property Management at the very beginning of our stay my review/rating of this property would be 5 stars and not 3 stars. The property itself was perfect in every way! Kudos to the OWNERS! It's a really outstanding property! The EPIC FAIL was all on Turnkey Property Management. During our very first dinner at the property Turnkey continually texted (badgered) me for over an hour about completely unjustified excessive noise complaints. I texted Turnkey back repeatedly to inform them that our noise levels were not "excessive", and they must have the wrong property/contact info. We are always extremely quiet and respectful of others when we travel. Turnkey texted me back saying that to "ensure our safety" they were sending their "Local Security Team" to the property to check things out. The "team" never showed up, nor did anyone else from Turnkey. After about an hour of back and forth the texts from Turnkey finally stopped, however, the experience really put a damper on the next few days of our stay with us always having to be worried if the complaints/texts were going to start up again. This property gets 5 stars! Turnkey Property Management gets 2 stars.

The Barrel house is AWESOME

This is a BEAUTIFUL house! Everything was SOOOO clean and every item you could ever need was available. Also got to meet the owners by visiting their pet supplies shop! Fabulous people. Definitely would rent again - perhaps in the summer when more stores are open.

Perfect place to explore Boothbay Harbor

This is the second Turnkey property we have stayed in in Maine (Bar Harbor was the other one) and it was just as good. Working with Turnkey is flawless: Quick response to any communication with accurate information. In boothbay we did have a couple of small issues We. communicated them to Turnkey right away in the morning via text and within minutes we had a text from their local representative saying she would take care of things right away. While we were out that morning we got a text that it was all taken care of. You can’t beat that service The apartment was spotless when we arrived and was perfect for our needs. Great spaces upstairs and on the main level. Comfortable beds and everything is well designed and in perfect working order. I wish our house looked half as good as these properties. And the amazing thing is that they are totally modern but in older buildings. The location cannot be beat. A quick walk downhill and you’re in the downtown. The town has all the restaurants and shops that you need. We especially liked Waves for breakfast; it was right down the hill and to the right. And a nice coffee shop at the bottom of the hill as well. We can’t recommend this place higher; it was a perfect place to stay for exploring the Maine coast. One suggestion if you like wineries: inland from Camden are two good ones: Cellar door winery— very upscale but still down home and then Savage Oaks— much smaller but all estate wines with occasional name entertainment and it’s own herd of Galloway cattle It’s on land owned by the same family for years. And a real nice dog to pet

A perfect location right in town with everything you need in the house! Small details like specialized beverage glasses, extra linens and games for kids are a special touch. Beds were comfortable and house was very clean (considering it’s pet friendly!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Everything was a described in the listing. The location is perfect - can walk to everything. Parking outside is a bonus. Great house for a family in the heart of Boothbay

This was an excellent home to rent. Location was perfect. Walking distance to restaurants, piers, etc...What I appreciated most about the house was the attention to details. Beautiful architecture inside, stocked kitchen, heated bathroom floors. Not having to keep up with keys was nice also. Highly recommend!
