Fantastic stay at the Old Convent (No 4)! The house was very easy to find. The rooms and facilities were spotless. Chris and Felicity were super sweet and their recommendation were spot on! Communications were easy through the VRBO app. We’d stay here again, but for a longer time, in the future.

A really lovely apartment with everything you could want for a relaxing stay. Really good sized comfortable bedrooms, a well equiped kitchen and cosy living room. The hosts ( Felicity and Chris) are lovely and really engaging . We would highly recommend this place as it really is one of the best we have stayed in. The location is excellent with some fabulous walks in close proximity.

The care that has been put into this property really shows, in both form and function. The hosts are welcoming, warm, and had awesome recommendations of day trips for us to do. We had the most amazing time exploring the loch and we owe a large part of that to the old convent and our hosts. :)

Very nice accommodations exactly as appears on the VRBO site...no surprises! We were greeted by both Chris and Felicity who gave us valuable information about not only the property but additional side trips in the area to visit. Highly recommended site...quiet and comfortable!

A fabulous immaculately presented properly situated within easy walking distance of Fort Augustus. The hosts are amazing with great communication throughout the process and a warm friendly welcome on arrival. Overall an amazing base to explore the highlands. A blueprint of how things should be done. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay. Felicity and Chris were both so welcoming and friendly. We got great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay there again.

Felicity and Chris were amazing hosts. They were very knowledgeable about the area and anywhere that we wanted to travel. They met us at our vehicle upon arrival for introductions, and then gave us a thorough tour of our apartment so that we knew where everything was and how everything worked. The apartment was spotless, which I very much appreciate, and the renovations they have done to it are just perfect. It feels refreshed, but still has the charm that I would expect of an old building. Would definitely recommend staying here!

What a wonderful property and hosts! The apartment was well-appointed with an amazing kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms. So comfy and so clean! Chris gave us the tour and offered so much pertinent information for getting the most out of the area. And being within walking distance from Loch Ness was a definite amenity. Additionally, the location is within an hour to hour-and-a-half of numerous Highland must-see sites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return in the future. Highly recommended!

This was the perfect apartment to house our family while we visited western Scotland. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed for our 3 day visit. The hosts are friendly and have one of the best welcome information packets I have experienced, with instructions on how to use everything in the apartment, menus for local restaurants, suggested places to visit.

For us, the location, charm, and peaceful surroundings were exactly what we were looking for. There were many beautiful hikes within either walking distance or a short car journey. The village offered great food/drink choices for a night out, and the apartment was furnished very well if a night in was chosen. Chris and Felicity were a veritable fount of valuable information and suggestions, and were always available to answer questions. We will definitely return here on future visits!

Everything that you could need . Chris and Felicity made us most welcome . Great area. Cycled the banks of the Caledonian Canal, played golf on the local course ( a wee gem ) and found lots of good places to eat out in .A week to remember. Libby and Hamish McGregor

We had a wonderful and warm welcome, helpfull and humorous owner. We loved ist so much, that we definitely come back. The surroundings are fantastic, you can walk right from the old convent, to get incredible views over Loch Ness and the mountains around. The accomodation is fantastic, evrything was there, nothing is missing.. One of the best accomodation in Scotland ever!!!!

The Apartment has been so nicely, both in style and ambiente. The mix of modern and old style has been best composed. Thanks to Felicity and Chris for the opportunity to stay here and enjoy the beautiful landscape of scotland. The woodwalk was always in the morning the best start for the day and Fort Augustus with all the pubs and shops in walking distance was a big relief in the evening. Best place for daytrips to the highlands.

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt in Apartment 4. Die Ferienwohnung war blitzsauber bis in die hintersten Ecken und mit allem ausgestattet, was man fĂŒr einen stressfreien Aufenthalt mit vier Personen benötigt. Wir wurden herzlich von Felicity empfangen und erhielten eine ausfĂŒhrliche EinfĂŒhrung in alles, was wir ĂŒber die Wohnung wissen mussten. Nebenbei gab es einige Tips fĂŒr TagesausflĂŒge, Restaurants/Pubs und Dinge, die man in der nĂ€heren Umgebung unternehmen kann. Alle Informationen waren darĂŒber hinaus ĂŒbersichtlich und ausfĂŒhrlich in einer Mappe zusammengetragen. Obendrein waren mehrere Straßenkarten und ReisefĂŒhrer vorhanden, die wĂ€hrend des Aufenthalts genutzt werden konnten und sich als sehr hilfreich erwiesen. Die Wohnung selbst lĂ€sst keine WĂŒnsche offen. Eine vollstĂ€ndig eingerichtete KĂŒche mit GeschirrspĂŒler und Waschtrockner und jeder Menge Kochutensilien ermöglicht die stressfreie Zubereitung auch grĂ¶ĂŸerer Mahlzeiten. Der Schlafbereich mit einem extrem gerĂ€umigen Doppelzimmer und einem weiteren Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten ist vom restlichen Wohnbereich durch eine Treppe getrennt. Schlafende Personen werden hierdurch nicht durch GerĂ€usche aus dem Wohnbereich gestört. Insgesamt ist die Schallisolierung fĂŒr schottische VerhĂ€ltnisse hervorragend und GerĂ€usche von außen haben nie gestört. Die weiche BettwĂ€sche und das bequeme Bett trugen ihr ĂŒbriges zu einem erholsamen Schlaf bei. Fort Augusts an sich eignet sich perfekt als Basis um die Highlands zu erkunden. In der Regel lassen sich sĂ€mtliche SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten innerhalb von zwei Stunden erreichen. Ein Tagestrip nach Sky ist geradezu Pflicht und der Empfehlung von Felicity, auf der Hintour die FĂ€hre anstatt der BrĂŒcke zu nehmen, ist unbedingt zu folgen - spektakulĂ€re Ausblicke garantiert. Die lĂ€ngere Fahrzeit ist gut investiert. Abschließend können wir diese Fereinwohnung und insbesondere diesen Gastgeber nur wĂ€rmstens empfehlen. Besser kann man es - vor allem in Anbetracht des Preises - kaum machen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

I wish I could give this 2 comfortable place a 7 star rating on the 5 star scale. This converted convent is as centrally located in the marvelous Scottish Highlands as one can be. Mountain scenery, lochs (especially Loch Ness) are easily accessible, as are a serviceable number of amenities. The problem with the Old Convent is that all the nearby attractions make you feel bad that you are not spending enough time enjoying this comfortable and charming lodging. It is lovingly and meticulous restored, homey, and beautifully decorated, a rarity in holiday apartments. The delightful hosts, Chris & Felicity, live on-site.

My husband, sister in law and I, had an absolute amazing time here. Our Apartment 4 was awesome, it felt like home! The location was perfect and everything was within a 15 minute walk. The rope swing in the woods out back was so much fun! We definitely want to stay here again in the future!!

We strictly recommend this apartment! Nice atmosphere in a caringly restored historic building. One room is located wih window to teh main road and therefore a little bit louder than the other room (double bed) which is aligned to the garden. But in the night the traffic is going down to zero. The bathroom is a highlight. The kitchen is fully equipped. Only 5 min by feet you may reach the food court of Fort Augustus.
