10/10 – Hervorragend

This property was everything we had hoped it would be. It was a fairly last minute decision to visit Cannon Beach again, and I have some pretty specific requirements. The description and photos looked good and I knew exactly where it was. My greatest concern was being right on Hemlock street, but this particular unit is tucked behind the main structure that blocks nearly all of the traffic sound. The entry is not shared with any of the other three units and is accessed by a mostly-enclosed private deck on the side and rear of the property. There is just one shared wall and a smart layout which appealed to me as well. The open beamed ceiling with the large dormer window is rustic, cozy, charming, and makes the space seem larger than it is. The decor is more rustic mountain cabin than cliche beach house, which was a welcome surprise. It’s comfortably furnished and equipped with a full kitchenette, gas fireplace, and a unique step-down bathroom with skylight. (It’s tucked in the lower part of the angled roof so the ceiling height is a bit compromised for taller guests, but just fine for us.) Lots of hooks for coats and clothing but no closet or dresser other than the small night stand drawers, also just fine for us! It’s a great space for two and we will most certainly be coming back. Cordial and readily available staff just a block away.
