Super Hotel an guter Lage
Super Lage in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss ist man an der V&A Waterfront. Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer ist geräumig. Frühstücksbuffet sehr vielfältig (pancakes/waffeln, div. Eierspeisen, früchte, joghurt, brot, etc.). Würde dieses Hotel wieder buchem.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, nur paar Schritte von der sicheren Waterfront entfernt. Die Einrichtung ist allerdings etwas abgewohnt, Kühlschrank, Klimaanlage sehr laut. Die Türe lassen sich nur laut zuschlagen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, Extrawünsche werden erfüllt.

'Oldfashioned' im besten Sinne
Das Portswood ist ein direkt an der Waterfront gelegenes Stadthotel, das sich vor allem durch außergewöhnlich guten Service auszeichnet. Die zahlreichen Mitarbeiter sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Ausstattung stammt noch aus den 70er Jahren, wobei Hotel und Zimmer jedoch viele Annehmlichkeiten bieten und in gutem Zustand sowie gut gepflegt sind. Der Preis ist im Hinblick auf die nicht sehr großen Zimmer relativ hoch, jedoch angesichts des Service und des im Preis inbegriffenen Frühstücksbuffets durchaus angemessen. Wer in fußläufiger Entfernung von der Waterfront untergebracht sein möchte, ist hier gut bedient.

Very convenient for the waterfront. One evening we sat in the bar and no one came to serve us. After 30mins we left for our room. We had an issue checking out early. The hotel blamed Expedia, and vice versa. Annoying, but it got sorted out within 30mins. And after, the duty manager gave us 2 free tickets to the diamond museum (which was worth a visit - if you can stand the sales pressure!!!)

Overall a nice hotel and well located. My only negative take was was the lack of welcoming from the reception. The rest of the staff where fantastic. Amazing how just a lack of a smile or a kind word can make such a difference.

Excellent value for money hotel in a fantastic location. My friends stayed 2 minutes walk away for 4K Rand more a night! Staff was lovely and friendly. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Nice little touches like free bottled water in the rooms. Only hiccup was room service breakfast got missed, but it was easy to get myself from the dining room. All around a very comfortable stay and would be back!
