This is a clean well managed property with welcoming staff and a cosy atmosphere . Only minor comments really, the pillows were not very good and despite an excellent Full Welsh breakfast a nice touch would to have some locally produced sausages rather than bog standard ones. Also some better quality bread for the toast would only add to the overall positive impression.

A lovely place
Out in the sticks but what a lovely place. Room was generous in size, fascilities excelent. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and attentive. Food was wonderful.

Needs a lot of improving
This isnt up to par for a 4 star. On arrival the greeting wasn’t informative or helpful, I found myself asking a few questions such as dining times, details for WiFi & breakfast. The toilet was soiled and covered over with toilet duck. The room was full of midges which kept me awake throughout the night. The room was dusty and dirty. The ceiling alves were so low by tea/coffee making facilities and in the bathroom it was hazardous. There was no bathroom mat therefore another hazard when getting out of the shower (after already bending your head to avoid banging it to get in and out of bath). The staff were polite enough at dinner time and especially friendly lady at breakfast. You aren’t presented with a breakfast menu, just a ‘what would you like, we can pretty much do anything you normally for breakfast’. At a push I would say this was a 3 star. Wouldn’t return.

First time here but it's in a nice quite spot the food here is great all the meals we had were really good and good portion sizes the room we stayed in was one that hadn't been done up but my wife was showen the other rooms and said they had been renovated,Would stay again if in the area.

Nice hotel; good breakfast and welcoming team!
Wasn't sure where to go upon arrival; there was no reception and we wondered a little at first. When I mentioned our name, the man welcomed us and showed us to the room. The room was clean and well equipped. It was very hot this weekend and the lack of air conditioning was apparent making for a hard sleep. We were provided with a fan; I had requested for another fan to be brought up or the 2nd window to be unlocked but this did not happen. We were in Wales for a family event so didn't get to try the evening food menu (which looked delicious). Our bed's mattress was too soft for our liking so sleeping was difficult. Breakfast in the morning was great; no complaints and we had a good feed before hitting the road. I would certainly go back there with my family if nothing else to try the food.

Nice place with friendly staff
Lovely warm place with really nice room. Staff were really friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that we got two single beds instead of one double, but that was probably because we booked it on the day so they may have run out. Really good breakfast too.

middle of nowhere pub with kids play room. room ok but seriously let down by restaurant. they were under staffed & if showed, took 2 hours to get my meal which was bland at best. Meant to come with seasonal veg but not sure frozen peas & tasteless carrot slices count, potatoes al dente to say the least. Asked for 2 course meal deal but could only wait for the main but still overcharged me for 2nd course on check out. Guy behind the bar who i assume was the owner was very unwelcoming & on occasion quite rude. Sorry wont be staying again in its current situation, oh no phone service as well in case it matters to you

Excelente B&B tradicional en entorno rural
Excelente atención. Muy buena la calidad de la cena (exquisitas chuletillas de cordero con salsa de menta) y el desayuno, con unos huevos revueltos y un bacon infinitamente mejores de lo que se puede comer en cualquier hotel de cuatro estrellas. Por la tarde-noche se reúne la gente de la localidad a tomar unas cervezas y a cenar en lo que se convierte en un pub muy agradable de zona rural . Se trata de un entorno rural aislado, por lo que deberían abstenerse aquellos que buscan actividades de carácter más urbano, aunque Cardiff es accesible a unos 25 minutos en coche. Barry, una pequeña localidad costera está muy cerca, aunque su oferta gastronómico no es especialmente variada.

Quiet and charming Country Inn
Stayed here for only one night (3rd December) and found this place brilliant! The staff were really friendly and the choice and quality of food was exceptional. We weren't sure whether to stay for an evening meal but glad we did! During the evening, there were some Christmas party bookings with a live DJ who was entertaining. The management made sure we were happy with the noise at the Inn and contacted us before our arrival to let us know. The additional entertainment added to the enjoyment! The newly refurbished rooms are done out to an extremely high standard and to top the stay - freshly cooked to order breakfast. This Inn is located in a small rural village in the Vale of Glamorgan with lots of character - not one for those that are looking for activity outside the place - we were looking for a quiet spot, so suited our needs! Would highly recommend and will definitely come back soon :-)

The inn was nice and well updated for its real overly isolated location. The food was delicious and the drinks were priced very reasonably. There are a lot of children around, as the place is quite family friendly so be aware of that if it bothers you. I would recommend this as a nice, relaxing place to stay for anyone

Skip night stay .
Good part : Check in was easy just asked name and hand over keys , location of hotel is good very near to Barry beach , food items during lunch were quite good. Near to Cardiff. Bad part : In morning at 08:00 clock false fire alarm triggered and hotel staff was incapable to control it/mute it /stop it . It was so noisy for next half hour or 45 mins we have to vacate our room in 5 mins even though it was false alarm but noise was unbearable. Then when we asked what's in breakfast hotel staff pointed us to few cereals pack saying help yourself. When we finished having cereals hotel owner I believe who rushed to site to fix broken alarm asked do you want to have something from menu , apparently there were range of english breakfast items available which hotel staff didn't even bother to offer us . Third room was clean but stinky and loud humming voice throughout night apparently was of big refrigerator or something. If you want to day spend with your kids in nice weather then you can go but skip saying overnight.

Very basic country hotel
The hotel was not as described. The wifi didn't work and hadn't for over a week! The staff were all helpful and pleasant, the food was very ordinary and I couldn't eat my meal, it was awful but breakfast was ok.
