As a VIP Expedia member, I expect a certain level of respect and good service. I was traveling alone with my child and we were approached several times in a demeaning manner by a hefty, threatening looking security guard regarding our legitimacy as guests (even when we were wearing or carrying their mandatory ink-leaking-paper thin-Disneyland bracelets). I also observed that NO ONE at the pool or in the lobby or elsewhere was wearing bracelets and we seemed to be targeted by security personnel which made me feel very uncomfortable since he kept asking for our room number. The manager on staff seemed very inexperienced and on the contrary, escalated the situation by indicating that security had a right to patrol the guests. She said she would inform his boss, but the next day, he came back and harassed us again. She also said she would credit me for the resort fee (there was NO internet or working television the whole week we were there) but she did not. I had to get my credit the next day when we checked out. And finally, I don't know what the pool guys do to chemicalize the pool, but two bathing suits (swim shirt, and bathing suit) were destroyed by it. Overall, the management and security really cheapened my impression of this 2.5 star "resort". It did not feel like a resort experience at all.

Great location and great beach town The hotel was excellent except that housekeeping was not available on a regular basis. One fault: Housekeeping only seems to occur in the late afternoon and required several calls to the front desk

Adult jacuzzi was wonderful with excellent views. We used the complimentary beach chairs. The large grass area with lounge chairs was very comfortable but needs more shade.

Great location. Opposite the beach. Parked the car and could walk to everything we needed for 4 days. Countless restaurants and a great, affordable grocery and liquor store(s) all walkable. A great destination for a mid week visit. The resort does a great job of using their common areas, especially outside to the max. Outdoor amenities and facilities all beautifully maintained.

I love the ocean view from the pool. I love that you could walk around and see the ocean almost anywhere. I like that they had activities in case you wanted to stay around the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the hotel room was clean. I want to go back.

Beautiful grounds with beach access. Friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great location. Loved our stay here and highly recommend it. By far the nicest and cheapest hotel we stayed at from San Diego to San Francisco. Only negative was the fridge in our room was really small and our salads, wraps and drinks we stored it in for lunch next day were frozen and had to be thrown out.

Love this place!!
Carlsbad Beach resort is AMAZING!!! The grounds outside are so inviting for families, with pool access, hot tub, open grounds for play and a short walk down stairs to the beach! The bed and room was very comfortable. Had a king hotel room for this visit. Coffee was great each morning. Norte next door was delicious! Would definitely say to find a different breakfast spot besides the small cafe on property, Daily News. Biscuits and gravy were horrible!!! This hotel is walking distance to so much you never have to move your car! Can’t wait to return!!!

Unfortunately, we were there for a Celebration of Life. Our check-in went okay. Other family members also stayed there and also had a king room. But, they definitely had a larger bathroom with double sinks. We probably should have seen if they could have moved us. We were also right next to an elevator and there were kids running up and down the halls and going up and down the elevator. We had to call the front desk. Fortunately, they took care of the situation. Overall, I guess it was okay. The location was good for what we needed.

We have stayed here before and enjoyed our stay. The parking is included and easy. The location provides plenty of restaurants & cafes. The ocean is right there. We also enjoy the lounge area. There is a lovely heated pool, but we haven't gone swimming in it yet.
