L'Appartement au Lucky Duck - 2 chambres dans une banque historique restaurée

  • Welcome to our favorite place to stay.

Set above Lucky Duck, and down the street from Hayward Restaurant, in a beautifully restored historic bank in the heart of Carlton, this apartment was designed by people who love to cook, gather, and slow down.

Sleep four comfortably, cook in a chef's kitchen stocked with our favorite tools, then unwind in the private courtyard with a hot tub, fire pit, and grill. We hope you'll feel less like a visitor and more like you're coming home.

We designed this apartment to be the kind of place we always hope to find when we travel: comfortable, beautiful, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need for a weekend in Oregon wine country.

Your stay begins just upstairs from Lucky Duck, our café and culinary retail shop in the heart of Carlton. Step through the gate into your private courtyard, complete with a hot tub, fire pit, charcoal grill (with charcoal ready to go), and a large dining table for long dinners or slow mornings with coffee.

Climb the original staircase of this beautifully restored historic bank building and settle into your home away from home. We've left a curated guide filled with our favorite wineries, restaurants, walks, and hidden gems so you can experience the Willamette Valley like a local.

At the center of the apartment is a kitchen made for cooking, not just reheating takeout. It's stocked with the pots, pans, knives, ceramics, linens, and tools we genuinely love and use ourselves. Whether you're preparing breakfast from local market finds or opening a special bottle after a day of tasting, we hope you'll enjoy spending time here as much as we do.

While you're in town, we invite you to visit our other businesses, Hayward and Lucky Duck. Or stay in, light the grill, soak in the hot tub, and let the day unfold at your own pace.

Well-behaved pups are always welcome. We simply ask that you use the pet blankets and towels we've provided to help keep the furniture looking its best for future guests.

Need a recommendation, another bag of coffee, or a last-minute bottle of wine? Just wander downstairs to Lucky Duck, we're happy to help. And if you happen to fall in love with the cookware, ceramics, linens, or cookbook you used during your stay, you'll find many of them waiting for you in the shop below.

We hope you'll make yourself at home. That's exactly what this place was designed for.

The Apartment at Lucky Duck has its own private entrance, marked with dedicated signage. Once through the gate, you'll enter using the personalized access code provided before your arrival.

During business hours, you're welcome to enjoy Lucky Duck downstairs. Outside of those hours, we simply ask that you use your private courtyard and avoid the Lucky Duck patio so our team can prepare for the next day.

We love sharing this little corner of Carlton and want your stay to feel effortless.

If you need anything during business hours, just pop downstairs to Lucky Duck and ask for Farmer, our wonderfully design-savvy General Manager. Whether you're looking for a winery recommendation, need an extra corkscrew, or can't remember where we suggested dinner, they're happy to help.

Outside of shop hours, you're never on your own. Text Jules, our Director of Ops, or Chef Kari directly using the contact information provided in the apartment guide. We're always just a message away and are happy to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Our apartment is tucked upstairs in a historic bank building in the heart of downtown Carlton. Downstairs you’ll find Lucky Duck, our café, culinary shop, and gathering place, open Thursday through Monday. Our hours vary seasonally, so you may find us bustling away below during your stay.

Being right on Main Street means you’re just steps from Carlton’s tasting rooms, restaurants, shops, and everything our little downtown has to offer. It also means that for some, this is not a particularly quiet stay. Main Street sees regular traffic, including trucks and early-morning deliveries, and you’ll hear the sounds of the café and town coming to life below. We provide white-noise machines in the bedrooms, but very light sleepers, or guests looking for a peaceful, tucked-away retreat may be happier elsewhere.

**A note about accessibility:** The apartment is located on the second floor and is accessible only by stairs. Getting upstairs requires climbing 25 steps on our original historic staircase—the staircase itself is actually part of the building’s historic registry! There is no elevator or alternate step-free entrance, so unfortunately the apartment is not ADA accessible and may not be a comfortable fit for guests with limited mobility or difficulty navigating stairs.

We love the quirks and character that come with this old building—and want you to know about them before you arrive so you can decide whether Lucky Duck is the right stay for you.
