TOP Hotel in Cartagena
Wir haben zum dritten Mal (2015,2017,2019) das Boutique Hotel Bastion gewählt. Es ist nach wie vor ein super Hotel, mit außerordentlich freundlichem Personal und super Preis/Leistung Verhältnis. Der Roof Top-Pool ist das Highlight und weiterhin der perfekte Ort zum Verweilen. Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen.

Stressfrei in Cartagena unterwegs :-)
Das Bastion gehört für mich zu den besten Hotels in Cartagena. Ich war bereits das zweite Mal im Bastion. Die anderen Top Hotels in Cartagena sind auch gut, doch Bastion hat für mich noch ein gewisses etwas zu bieten. Roof Top Pool ist zudem einzigartig.

luxuriöses Hotel mitten in der Altstadt
Wir waren 5 Nächte im Hotel, freundlicher Emfang trotz 2 Uhr morgens. Schwimmbad und Whirlpool auf dem Dach mit Bar und komfortablen Liegestühlen und mit Baldachin überspannten Bettliegen alles perfekt gestylt, brandneu und architektonisch eine Augenweide. Da es sich um eine kernsanierte Altstadtimmobilie handelt, sind fast alle Zimmer nur mit Fenstern zu Innenhöfen versehen und damit in der unteren Etage recht dunkel. Wir wählten eines der sehr wenigen Zi. mit Stadtblick im 3. Stock, das war zwar kleiner aber schöne Aussicht auf die Dächer der Altstadt. Der Wechsel wurde frdl. unterstützt. Frühstück einwandfrei, das Besondere war eine zusätzliche Karte mit ca. einem dutzend verschiedener Eierspeisen nie zuvor woanders gesehener/gegessener Art, einfach toll. Klimaanlage innen war leise, dafür Lüfter außen bei geöffnetem Fenster unseres Außenzimmers sehr laut zu hören, ansonsten keine Straßengeräusche. Das Eintauchen in den Trubel der Altstadt und das Aufspüren von Lokalen und Bars und viel auszuprobieren war ein großes Vergnügen, besonders weil die Menschen sehr freundlich sind und man sich nie unsicher oder bedroht fühlt wozu auch keinerlei Anlaß gewesen wäre.

Beautiful property and the restaurant was delicious. Henry was the best waiter and went above and beyond. The staff provided impeccable service. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel to friends. The rooftop pool was an oasis, a real treat from the heat of Cartagena. Loved it!

There is a different credit card machine for American cards that most of the staff doesn't know how to use and only works some of the time, my husband thinks it's because they want cash so they make it difficult. Some of the food is okay salads, eggs were good. Don't eat the dairy tastes like it turned they don't refrigerate or chill the milk for coffee and it's 90 degrees out it tastes sour, avoid the beef it tasted like it had been left out gone bad we both spit it out couldn't eat it. There's a hilton next door that was safe to eat at. The shuttle service is just them calling a cab for you, which is risky because they're known to change the rate mid ride better off with an uber. Also pretty sure they water down the vodka my husband had 5 vodka sodas in the sun by the pool didn't feel a thing lol but how do you prove that. The front of the desk speaks English but that's it. And it's an indoor outdoor hotel so you may find a giant lizzard in your room like us. However it's still one of the nicest hotels in cartagena, clean and safe and the massages were great.

Was great before, came back and enjoyed again
Have stayed here before and enjoyed it again. Very friendly staff. Great pool on the roof and nice interiors. Not part of an international hotel chain, which gives it more individuality. You definitely need to go to the Mekani Beach Club on Tierra Bomba which is affiliated with the hotel. Relaxed beach-club where you won't be hassled by vendors

The hotel is awesome. It is beautiful, staff is very friendly and professional. They offer a very good breakfast, buffet style and a la carte as well. The pool on the roof top is very nice to relax for a couple of hours or to cool down a bit. We have stayed here 4 times and it never disappoints.

Breakfast staff.
The breakfast was lovely but ordering from the menu took much to long time to get and was often not what we ordered, the staff was very friendly but not understanding English.

My second stay and still a success. Only tiny complaint is that at least half of the staff only spoke Spanish. Not a big deal but still posed a few challenges while ordering breakfast etc.

I've been staying at the Bastion for over 3 years now and never do they disappoint. We enjoyed staying at this property. They treat you like VIP. Excellent services, amazing breakfast with a variety of healthy options, live music in the evening, great food & presentation at the restaurant. Pool and roof top are really nice too. I think the staff at this place is really the best I’ve had in a long time! Definitely recommend it!
