Its construction began in the 14th century and was not completed until about 500 years later. I had visited the cathedral twice but never climbed to its roof. On this last visit I had this privilege and the view you have is simply breathtaking: there are gargoyles, statues (around 3400) and 135 needles. The facade has several architectural styles including Gothic, Renaissance and Neoclassical. Also noteworthy are the bronze doors with bas-reliefs of city life and Our Lady. Inside, 52 huge columns support the entire structure. Among the statues of its interior I highlight that of Saint Bartholomew who is shown carrying his own skin. A Catedral de MilĂŁo, mais conhecida como Duomo, Ă© uma das maiores igrejas gĂłticas do mundo. A sua construção foi iniciada no sĂ©culo XIV e sĂł foi concluĂ­da cerca de 500 anos depois. JĂĄ tinha visitado a catedral duas vezes mas nunca tinha subido ao seu telhado. Nesta Ăștima visita tive esse previlĂ©gio e a visĂŁo que se tem Ă© simplesmente de tirar o fĂŽlego: sĂŁo gĂĄrgulas, estĂĄtuas (dizem que em torno de 3400) e 135 agulhas. A fachada possui vĂĄrios estilos arquitetĂŽnicos entre eles o gĂłtico, renascentista e neoclĂĄssico. Destaque tambĂ©m para as portas de bronze com baixos-relevos da vida da cidade e de Nossa Senhora. No seu interior 52 colunas enormes sustentam toda a estrutura. Entre as estĂĄtuas do seu interior destaque para a de SĂŁo Bartolomeu que Ă© mostrado carregando a sua prĂłpria pele.

Average hotel. Okay for one night in Milan. Parking facilities are very limited: You have to be lucky to be able to park your car within the hotel premises. No valet parking. Breakfast features a wide range of choice while quality is average. In the rooms it is noticeable that the hotel is not aging well. Lacks of maintenance, especially in the bathroom. Nice and cool temperature even in summer, but while the a/c can be switched off, the ventilation cannot - which can be uncomfortable at night. Ambiance generally nice and pleasant scents in room and lobby. The lady at check-out was very kind and professional, which cannot be said of the colleagues we met at check-in. All in all: Not terrible, but you might find better options at better locations.

Das Zimmer war zwar schon etwas Ă€lter (es gibt auch neu renovierte Zimmer), aber insgesamt war es völlig in Ordnung und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das FrĂŒhstĂŒcksbuffet ist der Hammer, ich habe selten so ein großes Buffet in einem normalen Hotel gesehen. Und auch die Dach-Bar im obersten Stock mit seinem fantastischen Ausblick ist einen Besuch wert. Sofern einem nicht (wie uns passiert) der Zutritt als Hotelgast verwehrt wird, weil man nicht das ĂŒber 500€ teure Silvestermenue gebucht hat. So endete unser Plan, das neue Jahr mit einer Flasche Champagner auf dem Dach der Hotels zu feiern mit einem zugigen Spontan-Umtrunk auf der Straße vor dem Hoteleingang mit der Piccolo-Flasche aus der Zimmerbar. Das ist dann der frustrierende Gesamteindruck, den man am Ende vom Hotel mitnimmt. Eigentlich schade.

Wir waren fĂŒr ein verlĂ€ngertes Wochenende in Mailand. Unser Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Es gab eine tolle Auswahl zum FrĂŒhstĂŒck, das Personal war auch sehr nett. Wir konnten alles zu Fuß ablaufen. Es war alles super.
