« My husband and I stayed in this home for our annual anniversary trip. We love hiking and brought our dog with us for some active relaxation. This home was one of the best we have stayed in. It had everything we needed, and was clean and comfortable. Conveniently located about 15 minutes from Front Royal where there was plenty to do; yet also steps away from a trail in the neighborhood, which intersects with the AT. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. »

« Older, charming house in downtown Front Royal was ideal location for our weekend away with friends. Plenty of bedrooms, nice big dining table, wonderful front porch. Appreciated the walking proximity to Front Royal's historic downtown and easy driving distance to Shenandoah National Park. »

« Location had beautiful views, The house was clean, well equipped and had plenty of room. It is very private and quiet! The road to the house was a bit rough for a car but you just have to go slow and use the second entance per the instructions. »

« Wonderful location! Enjoyed great hikes in Shenandoah National Park, excellent restaurants, breweries and wineries. »

« The house is beautiful and has all the appliances you could ever use. It had coffee and filters stocked in the pantry. Sheets and towels were high quality. There is a 50 charge to use the hot tub which was not stated in the description. The road coming into the property is very steep and luckily my SUV had 4 wheel drive for easy access. »

« What a beautiful property! The setting is peaceful and private. The house is well appointed and beautifully decorated. The owner was responsive. We went to see a meteor shower and were successful. Great views from this property! »

« We had a group of Athletes that were one step from qualifying for NCAA National meet. This was a grwat place for the team to bond before competition. »

« It was a wonderful and relaxing time at Lone Bear Cabin. We had a quiet peaceful stay. The kitchen was well equipped for us .We particularly liked the level 2 charger that made our trip with an EV very easy. The wild turkeys made an evening visit. »

« For the 3rd summer in a row we had a wonderful family vacation at your house! The new dock was enjoyed immensely by all! Feedback regarding negatives were that the house had a lot of dust, new kitchen stove and oven is needed (bottom oven still does not work), new fan is needed for screened in porch, and a new mattress is definitely needed in the 2nd bedroom in the basement (larger bed has smaller mattresses stacked underneath and is very uncomfortable). We will say that the positives were...

« Nestled in the serene mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, this beautiful cabin provided a peaceful retreat. Within a half-hour’s drive, we were able to explore the northern and central regions of the National Park. The owner was incredibly responsive to our questions and provided quick answers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cabin for future stays. »

« I've stayed at quite a few rentals and hotels, and this is my favorite. It's definitely a bit off the grid, which makes it all the more private and charming. The views are breathtaking, and the layout of the house is perfect for a family...but it'd be lovely for a couple's or solo retreat, too! Our visit included three adults and two kids (10 and 12), but I appreciate that there are baby gates, a pack n play, and a high chair for guests with younger children. My kiddos especially loved the air...

« This cabin was perfect. Very clean, great view and organized. It was interestingly situated high up on a mountain and it was a lot of fun for us to drive the jeep (that host provided) to go up and down the hill on the rocky roads, very adventurous. I would definitely recommend it. It was just the two of us but the cabin can comfortably fit in a lot more people. »

« A train came past the house at 7am in the morning. There is no mention of early morning train activity in the description. The mattresses were extremely soft and the blankets were very thin…so we were chilly. The house is beautiful…just these details are something to consider. »
