Nice duplex. The neighborhood is fine and quiet, with a wonderful park/playground/basketball court/track within walking distance.
The home was clean and felt fresh. There were some minor inconveniences (the doors get a little stuck, so you can't open or close them quietly, and one of the sink traps wouldn't open very large to allow water to leave the sink, but my father actually fixed it).
For me, the most important thing is customer service. During the trip, we had no A/C. We messages the owner, who responded quickly, apologized, and tried his hardest to help us out. We couldn't figure it out. On the check-out date, while we were cleaning up after ourselves, my mother opened the closet in the kitchen, and saw the A/C unit. The switch had been turned off (one of the check-out procedures is to turn off all appliances... I think someone thought that included the A/C!). The fact that the owner was so responsive and willing to work with us to fix the issue says a lot!!!
If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, this is it. It's about 1.5 hours away from the main part of Chicago (because of traffic). But there are a lot of things to do within 30 minutes of the home.
