The hotel was clean; the staff was super friendly. Lots of retail and casual restaurants nearby but the city could make this area more walkable.

Great service
This was our second year back to attend Lunar Tides and plan on staying again next year! The staff was all wonderful and very helpful, and I know it can be a hectic & stressful couple nights when there is a show next door.

It was amazing like always the only thing with a passion that I hate is people who have they dogs without leashes that is something that is a must and need to be put on a sign everywhere.some people are terrified of dogs.other than that great place great staff great breakfast! Room was very clean and neat! Pool was so much fun gym was totally clean!

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. Very kind and helpful. The place looked well kept and updated. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. My one complaint is that with a 5 night stay there was no maid service. Our trash cans were small and overflowing and we had to request more towels, TP and tissue. It would have been nice to have service at least every other day.

Staff was friendly. The room was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. There was hair in the shower, an empty vodka bottle on the air conditioning unit and a bottle of cologne on the floor. The breakfast was very minimal.

Stay here!
Such a nice hotel!!! The amenities were clean and new. Hotel room were so spacious and perfect for our large family. We had a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is lacking but that’s my only complaint.

An OK experience
Breakfast was a bit simple, expected better (for example, expected scrambled eggs to be made available every day). Customer service: If you are checking in late at night, you might want to call ahead of time to notify them. When we arrived around midnight/1 am, it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk so we could be checked in. Bathroom: I don't understand the purpose of having a half-glass shower door rather than a full door that actually closes... Not sure why this design was chosen because it makes it difficult to stay warm, especially in the winter :)

Hello, We do apologize you were not happy with the selection for breakfast. Marriott has moved away from scrambled eggs in breakfast. Instead we provide a variety of rotating breakfast sandwiches, quiche, frittatas, build it yourself Oatmeal station, waffles, yogurts, bagels, muffins and scones. We do apologize if this variety of options doesn't meet your standards/expectations. We do our best to constantly provide a wide range of options and we typically have 20 different options for people to pick from on a daily basis, unfortunately not everyone will be happy. Thank you for commenting on the shower design, unfortunately there is little we can do about it, but it was a design approved by Marriott International and it is a little more modern and we understand it isn't for everyone. As for the delay for getting let into the building after midnight, we do apologize, we will speak with our front desk to make sure we are keeping a better eye on things. Most likely they had stepped away to assist another guest staying at the hotel and I apologize created such an inconvenience for you.

My overall stay was comfortable and would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I loved the fact that the hotel access to the lobby was secured each night, to only hotel residents. The hotel parking lot was well lit with streetlights. The hotel staff can improve by offering a wide range of restaurant suggestions at the time of check in. After a couple days stay, I asked the attendant at the front desk if they had a restaurant in hotel and was told they did not. They suggested restaurants nearby but they were either fast food or restaurants I did not prefer. At the time of checkout, I saw the printed list of nearby restaurant suggestion which was too late.

Thank you for the comments on the restaurant availability and knowledge of the hotel front desk, we will work with them on better providing information about the local area. There are many great restaurants in Waukegan, Gurnee and Libertyville near the hotel and it is hard to remember them all.

Hello, our hotel policy is that you have to be 21 years of age to check in at the hotel. Most of the hotels in the Fountain Square area have this exact same policy. I do apologize that a policy that many hotels have offends you so much that you felt it necessary to leave a 1 out of 5. We do hope you find something that suites your needs in the future. Feel free to return once you are 21 years old, we would love to accommodate you.
