The young man at the desk was very nice and quickly moved me to to another room when I asked. The second room, although having more light, was really shabby. The bedspread (it was a no smoking room) had burn holes and you could feel the springs through the mattress. I was hoping I could attach photos to show you the bathroom! Cracked tile, ugly yellow stains all around the sink and toilet and the tub/shower had awful stains too. It was graduation weekend so I expected the price to reflect that, but $250 a night for a dump like this is outrageous.I do want to give kudos to the two staff members I dealt with- they were friendly and very helpful.

This is an older motel in downtown Chico, so the decor is a little dated and the rooms are showing their age. I’d say this is an OK place, given the price, location and free parking. I had noisy neighbors (until 2 am) above me, but that was just bad luck. Didn’t hear or see other problems with guests. Check-in ws fast and easy; guy behind the desk was very nice.

Front desk people were nice. The cleaning staff should be fired, had to ask for 2 different rooms to be changed because of cleanliness. Beds were uncomfortable.

Lobby closed had to stand outside of lobby and use a phone while looking at clerk in the office was 39° degrees outside at the time. They gave my $100 security deposit to some random ass person then refused to pay it back.

Hi Lawrence,As you know, we take claims of fraud seriously and this incident was reported to Chico PD immediately. The reporting officer reviewed the security camera footage independently and confirmed that the person to which the deposit was returned was, in fact, your guest. I also spoke with your guest directly on your room's line hours before checkout and can personally confirm that she was indeed present in your room, which is also corroborated by the security camera footage.As such, you violated the agreement that you signed at check-in, which clearly states: "NO VISITORS TO YOUR ROOM- Only the registered guest(s) listed on the guest registry below are allowed in the room. Violators will be required to check out, without a refund." No guests were listed on your agreement, although we did provide four fully blank spaces for you to enter this information. That being said, I recommend reaching out to your guest to whom the security deposit was returned as a courtesy.Have a lovely day.

Overall this hotel is atrocious and no one should stay there, ever. But even the worst hotel (and this is) have a few things going for them, so here they are: 1) location - it is in downtown Chico within walking distance of the university 2) the sheets were clean and the mattress was comfortable 3) the parking lot was brightly lit 4) the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful Do not in any way let those 4 things lead you to believe that this hotel is ok, because isn't. This hotel is DIRTY and DISGUSTING. There was dirty laundry in the closet, a clearly used-for-s*x towel behind the door, the floors were too dirty to walk on, and the real kicker is that the shower and tub were completely unusable. By unusable I mean there was a hole in the wall in place of the contraption that would send water out of the shower head, and there was no plug to use it as a tub. I asked to use an iron, which they gave me, but it was filthy. The ironing board was broken. The cabinet doors were broken. The sink was stained. The mirrors were dirty. I stayed at this hotel out of sheer desperation because my original reservation was lost (either by the hotel or hotels.com, not sure which) and every other hotel near the college was sold out due to"family weekend". I was there to visit my daughter so location was my #1 priority. This hotel is gross. Trust me. BTW - I have spent 30-50 nights a year in hotels every year for 20+ years and have never left a bad review.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience staying with us. Cleanliness is a huge priority for our hotel and this most certainly does not sound like your room was up to our standard. The shower in your room has a unique way of turning on by pulling down the small ring on the faucet for the tub. This is uncommon so I understand why you would be confused, but had this been brought up while you were here our front desk clerk could have showed you. We also provide plugs for tubs per request. Please understand we take these reviews very seriously and your feedback will not be discarded. We hope you give us a chance to do better in the future.

I have stayed many times across the street and this is my first time staying here and I will say I will be staying here from now on this place by far I kept up on maintenance the rooms are up dated and the staff is friendly to each other the hotel across the street is the exact opposite and they had me convinced this place was worse then there hotel and it’s the opposite it’s so much better

At first there were no bath towels, the front desk brought some down. Then while going to the bathroom i felt water dripping on me. Looking up there was a water leak from the ceiling. By the looks of the patch job it has been repaired multiple times. Shower was dirty, no soap. And my white socks turned black due to the durty floor. Don't stay at this property.

We are truly sorry that your stay wasn't up to your standards. The front desk was made aware of the leaking problem when she dropped the towels and extra pillows requested by you to your room , she then asked if she could move your room and you told her that it was fine you would stay in that room because it was only for one night, again we are truly apologetic that your stay wasn't up to your standards. We did however try to fix the situation and you decided to stay in the room until checkout.

I seen multiple cockroaches and bugs. I felt super uncomfortable in the room I stayed in. And there were a lot of noises throughout the night that made it hard to sleep. I tried calling multiple times today to get a refund on the room but it didn’t connect me to the hotel. Wouldn’t recommend going here. 2/10

Saw roaches inside my room. Got woken up at 8 am by loud machinery noises made by the own hotel employees. No regard for the guests sleep. Bed linen was ripped and stained.

Night shift worker canceled my reservation and tried charging me more per night. If that wasn’t bad enough he put me in an unclean room. Day shift was nothing but helpful and resolved the problem

Justin checked us in. He was very accommodating and friendly. He informed us on the motel’s policy’s. I would re-book, possibly. The one concern I have; is the attitude of 2 other employees…(both male) one loud man (who works in the mornings) He tells people rudely that they need to leave and sort of harasses just a little much… especially when I have spent so much money with this location. I thought it was a one day thing; like maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but no. It is becoming repetitive now. And, one quiet guy (who works mix shifts)… who loves to be involved in the drama that occurs at this motel. I had him inform my guy friend on what I was doing and who I was speaking with in the parking lot. In my opinion, that’s invading my personal space/business and causing issues for me, while totally breaking the rules of his job description. Plus, he slacks off and tried to pursuade us not to book on hotels.com; but on America’s best value in Website… stating that they allegedly “match prices.”

While I was checking in another employee/manager/owner was talking on the phone loudly the entire time. We were in Chico, CA for our grandsons’ graduations. One was in the morning and the other was in the evening. When I pulled back the bedding to take a nap I notice the sheets were dirty, and in some places it looked like dried blood. I took pictures and immediately went to the front desk. The clerk’s response was that she could change the sheets - no apology. Nor did she seemed shocked. I ask to view other room options. We looked at two: one smelled of smoke even though it was supposedly non-smoking, and the 2nd room had noticeable cigarette burns on the furniture. The third room she showed me was acceptable, but later I notice it did not have any towels. Expedia should remove this property from their listing. Economical is one thing, but this place was not clean. We did not sleep well the entire night.

Asa, We are sorry you had unpleasant stay here. We get our sheets though a linen company that washing and dry them for us. We will bring this up to their attention about the sheets being dirty. Some of our rooms are still smoking rooms. Guest do smoke in non smoking sometime and we can't do anything about that. But once again we are sorry you had unpleasant stay here.
