Overall, we enjoyed staying at this property and particularly appreciating the location and the nice backyard. We found it somewhat comical that only a small amount of toilet paper and dish soap was left on the premise. In the upstairs bed that we slept on wasn't great. We appreciate the host's opening up there home for our stay.

Communication was good with the host company, a lot of texts but enough information. I was sent more than one code for the door and one of them worked. Different people text you from different numbers so it can be hard to determine who you are talking to. The house could have been cleaner, specifically the dishes, and some surfaces. Overall a nice beach house with lots of space. Some wallpaper or drywall paper in the kitchen was falling down from the ceiling. The requirement to wash your own dishes and put them away is not ideal in my mind, since that means I have to trust the last renter to clean the dishes rather than a cleaner who would likely be more thorough. One of the sinks in the bathroom was stopped up and not usable. Overall a decent stay but not approaching 5 stars.

Our first visit to Chincoteague!

What a wonderful town a the perfect home for our vacation! The house had everything we needed for a great week in Chincoteague. It was very clean, all the necessities in the kitchen to prepare meals, lots of outdoor options to sit and relax. A++ for Teal Cottage.

Perfect for family with kids

Our week at Teal Cottage working with the team at Seaside Vacations, was just wonderful. The house checked all the boxes for us - 3 under 2 years old and a 6 year old. Fenced in back yard was a must, a tub was a must and an open floor plan was just perfect. There was plenty of seating and places to spread out to play. Having the linens included was a great help. We will certainly look into a return trip next season. Thank you.

Great House for Two Families!

There were so many things to love about Teal Cottage! The layout of the house is great for two families and we were able to enjoy time together in the large common spaces and still feel like we had privacy when we wanted alone time. We especially loved the screened porch that looked out over the pond! The location was convenient to everything we wanted to do on Chincoteague and Assateague, and as the last house on a dead-end street, it was very quiet and peaceful. Even with construction work being done right next door where a new house is being built, the noise didn't interfere with our activities. Booking and check-in were simple and the house had almost everything we needed. I do feel that the photos need updating. Many of the trees have been removed so there wasn't as much shade as we were expecting and many of the furnishings shown in the photos have been removed. I would have loved some lamps in the living room for softer lighting at night. All said, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Teal Cottage and could have happily stayed a few more nights.

Great Property

Came here for a beach/hiking/writing retreat. Wanted something a bit more private and peaceful than the many hotels and rentals crammed together on the island. Teal Cottage was the perfect place and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Duck trip 2024

This is our 2nd year in a row at the Teal Cottage. Property is well maintained and works perfectly for our group of 5. It is in a convenient location in a great neighborhood. Views of the pond are outstanding. If we come down next year for another duck trip we will definitely be back.

Quiet Haven

The Teal cottage was perfect for our family of 6. It had all the space we needed and the perfect fenced in yard for small kiddos (which is especially important near a body of water). The location was exactly what we were looking for, convenient yet serene. We saw 3 deer on the property the very first day! We would highly recommend this vacation spot and would absolutely rent it again!

Quiet and Beautiful Home

Started here with my two sister's and their husbands as well as my parents. We had a fabulous time enjoying the screen porch and yard. The views of the pond from the porch and the decks of the bay were beautiful. We had a few small maintenance issues, but management came and took care of everything. There was plenty of room for all of us and we enjoyed our stay very much.

(Almost)perfect for kids!

This property is great for kids! A room with bunk beds, toys and a projecting nightlight, a kitchen stocked with kids cups, plates and utensils, as well as a fenced yard with a sandbox are the stars of the show if you have little ones. My only suggestion would be for the stairs to the upper deck-install a railing on the inner side of the stair to obstruct the open hole/drop. We did not allow our children on the upper deck due to this safety concern.

The house can only hold 4 adults and 6 children. The bunk bed bottoms are big enough for adults but the mattress is way to thin for even one. Also they've posted a weight limit of 200lbs on the top bunk, not sure if that the whole bed? We did clean up when we arrived because "ants" after we cleaned they didn't come back. So pretty dirty and had to buy raid for roaches. Still a beautiful view and after cleaning and raid we enjoyed our stay.

Great house and location

Loved our trip to Chincoteague and this little cottage.. Great garden for the kids to play football and all round good facilities. House has clearly been sprayed for bugs but still got some pesky ants and cockroaches trying to join us on holiday - saw a couple of patches of dead bugs around the house. To be expected on this swampy isle..

Lovely stay at the Teal Cottage

Wonderful stay at the Teal Cottage with a group of 3 couples. Common areas were spacious and well arranged. Several deck areas with stunning views. We used the gas grill and the fire pit. Bedrooms were perfect for two couples, the third is more suitable for kids but we managed fine. Property was clean and well decorated. We biked right from the house to Assateague. Plenty to do in Chincoteague. And lots of historic towns to explore a short drive away. Would rent this property again!

Beautiful Teal House

The home was beautiful and very well stocked they had a coffee pot and a Keirug which I loved! It's about 2 min from Main st so it was so easy to get to everything! The balcony upstairs allows for a perfect sunrise and sunset viewing! If the trees or just the one tree wasn't there them you would have a perfect view of the bay!

Late season duck hunt

Teal Cottage came as advertised. Roomy enough for our group of 5. Well equipped kitchen and starter supplies were great. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use the outdoor amenities. The property definitely accommodates various groups, from families to duck hunting buddies. Wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
