„I was in a single room, basic but clean. The hotel does need a refresh, and that is planned for next year. There is a gym guests can use, and spa treatments are also available (payable) in the Serenity Suite, a separate business on site. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.“

„Gutes günstiges Hotel. Wifi nur im öffentlichen Bereich.“

„Excellent scenic location next to the river. Amazing breakfast choices. Evening meals were always very good and sometimes exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would hope to return.“

„Great welcome easy check in and friendly team 😁. We arrived late after a long drive - the venue is an old pub with rooms. We navigated our way to the top floor room. As we arrived Halloween weekend we thought the dust and cobwebs in the room were part of the theme. 👻 The carpet around the bed and doors hadn’t been hoovered for months. „A lovely stay at The Speech House. A beautiful setting, comfortable room and a warm welcome. Perfect for a one-night stopover and a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean. Would happily stay again!“

The plugs didn’t all work, the television was hung on a wonk, the light was broken and hanging off the wall. I was woken throughout the night with people banging doors and then at 6am was a fire alarm, I left ...

„We had a very enjoyable stay. Ann & Baratt were great hosts. Good location for visiting Monmouth.“

„We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, the room was a great size and the beds were comfy.“

„My husband stayed at Deangate Motel due to working locally. The motel was clean staff helpful in that they let him keep the same room when he extended his stay due to not finishing his work on time. The room he was in he could see his work van clearly and the carpark was super safe as it joined the police station carpark so gave him peace of mind .will stay again as a couple so we can explore the area locally which is walking distance to Lydney. Beautiful countryside for walking.“

„Very friendly and helpful. Last minute booking. Room was comfortable, with a huge bed!.“
