The house & surrounding area are decent, though noise can be an issue at times. The property is old but charming, spacious, clean & homely, with some areas being modernized. It is within walking distance all amenities. The house is a mid-terrace property with a small backyard, one side visible to neighbours. Two CCTV cameras overlook the backyard, which impacted guest privacy. We later learned the host could monitor the cameras remotely from Canada, but this was not disclosed in the listing or our communications.Communication with the host was often delayed & sometimes came across as inflexible & arrogant, making it difficult to resolve concerns during our stay. We appreciated the kitchen table provided.Several maintenance & comfort issues were noted, including low water pressure, a noisy dining room fan (he never provided a floor fan) a noisy lounge AC unit, slippery rugs, unstable sofas with loose bolts, uncomfortable dining chairs & exposed electric cables in bedroom. During heavy rain, water entered parts of the house, requiring us to use our own cloths & mats to contain it.The outdated iron damaged our cloths & had a very short cord. Doors, cupboards & drawers were old, noisy, and lacked secure locks. The kitchen lacked storage space, work top & several basic items useful for long-term stays, including blender, large drying rack, mixing bowls, jugs, storage tubs, scale, serving spoons, tea towels, rugs. Bedroom needs bedside tables, night lamps, non-slip rugs & plugs.
