Cozy Up — Authentic Mountain Cabin Heating

There's something special about warming up beside a wood-burning stove while the Colorado mountain air turns crisp outside.

**The wood-burning stove is the cabin's PRIMARY HEATING SOURCE**, providing the warmth and ambiance of traditional mountain living. A supplemental electric heater is available for additional comfort.

**The cabin does NOT have a central heating system or furnace.**

The wall-mounted temperature display monitors indoor temperature ONLY. It does not control the wood stove, supplemental heater, or any heating system.

During colder months, guests should be comfortable operating a wood-burning stove as their primary source of warmth. Safe operating instructions are provided.

Guests with respiratory sensitivities or those who prefer conventional central heating should consider whether this accommodation meets their needs before booking.

The Adventure Begins on the Way In!

Part of staying in a secluded mountain cabin is leaving the pavement, traffic, and busy city life behind.

Our property is reached by rural, unpaved mountain roads, and the driveway has a steep incline.

Depending on weather and seasonal conditions, roads and the driveway may include:

- Loose gravel and uneven surfaces
- Washboarding and ruts
- Natural erosion and washouts
- Dust and loose dirt
- Mud and standing water
- Snow-packed or icy sections
- Changes between maintenance periods

**Washouts and erosion are common in rural mountain environments**, especially following heavy rain or snowmelt. These conditions can create uneven areas, dips, and ruts requiring careful navigation and appropriate ground clearance.

Many guests have successfully accessed the cabin in standard passenger vehicles. However, road conditions vary, and access by one vehicle does not guarantee suitability under all conditions.

**Four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) is strongly recommended during winter and adverse weather.** Adequate ground clearance may also be beneficial when washouts or ruts are present.

Guests should choose a vehicle suitable for mountain terrain, consider their experience driving unpaved roads, and check weather conditions before traveling.

Depending on the season, guests may encounter wildlife, birds, insects, changing weather, and uneven terrain.

These are normal aspects of a secluded mountain environment. We encourage guests to respect wildlife and enjoy the surroundings responsibly.

Good to Know Before You Go

We believe great vacations begin with clear expectations.

**Mountain Access:** Unpaved roads and a steep driveway. Washouts, ruts, erosion, gravel, mud, snow, and ice may be present. AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended during winter or adverse conditions.

**Cabin Heating:** Wood-burning stove is the primary heat source, with supplemental electric heating. No central heating system or furnace.

**Natural Lake Setting:** The property overlooks a private lake. Water levels, vegetation, and appearance change naturally throughout the seasons.

**Internet & Communication:** Starlink Wi-Fi is provided, with login information included in check-in instructions. Cellular reception may vary. Wi-Fi calling may be available depending on your phone and carrier settings.

**Check-In:** Detailed arrival instructions include the location of the lockbox directly beside the entrance door.

**Mountain Living:** Wildlife, insects, natural terrain, changing weather, and seasonal road conditions are part of the experience.
