It is within an hour to New River Gorge National Park and several state parks. There is plenty of space to explore near the house with the Elk River Trail right across the road. « Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. We were traveling with 17 people in our party. Five adults and 12 girls (5-17 years). The house was spacious and comfortable and included plenty of beds/room for everyone. If you are not used to driving on West Virginia mountains roads, I would definitely recommend arriving during daylight hours. The road up the mountain to the house is very narrow in places and it was a bit scary the first time at night. Lots of room in the kitchens for cooking and...
