Ein teurer Reinfall
Für uns eine Enttäuschung. Es war das teuerste Hotel und mit Abstand das schlechteste. Den Blick auf See kann man sich schenken. Ein Seitenfenster, wo mehr Parkplatz als sonst etwas zu sehen war. Jeder konnte ins Zimmer sehen. Haus im Stil der 70er Jahre. Frühstück: Wir sitzen am Tisch und warten..... Es rennen mindestens zwei bis drei Angestellte im kleinen Frühstücksraum umher. Zustande bringen sie wenig. Da wird am Nebentisch die Bestellung aufgenommen, an unserem wird vorbeigelaufen. Auf Zuruf werden wir vertröstet, sie kommen gleich. Warum kann man nicht für alle Tische, an denen die Gäste sitzen, die Bestellungen aufschreiben? Der nächste Angestellte fragt, ob Kaffee oder Tee. Der dritte bringt dann für zwei Personen eine kleine Kanne Kaffee. Am besten, der Toast, jeder bekommt eine!! halbe Scheibe. Natürlich kann man nachbestellen, aber wieso nur eine halbe Scheibe und nicht gleich 4 halbe Scheiben hinstellen? Und dann wieder darauf warten. Die Gesichter der Gäste sprach Bände. Das warme Essen vom Frühstück war gut! Aber der Ablauf ist total uneffizient. Das zieht sich dank Nachbestellung in die Länge, da man dauernd auf sein Essen wartet. Das Frühstücks-Buffet - nein, das war auch das schlechteste, was wir in 3 Wochen Schottland erlebt haben. Hier passt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Wir würden es nicht weiterempfehlen.

Tolle Lage des Hotels
Im Nationalpark Loch Lomond gelegen und sehr gut angebunden für schöne Ausflüge. Sehr ruhige und entspannte Lage. Das Servicepersonal/ Team war super aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.

Picturesque hotel on the loch
Such a sweet hotel that has thought of everything so make your stay comfortable. The food was amazing and the views of the loch were just outstanding. Amazing value for money!

Can’t fault the staffing, we were welcomed by the lovely Claire upon arrival, who helped us to our room. She was very friendly and easy to talk to instantly. The TV had Sky Sports, so I was able to watch Newcastle v Sheffield Utd in the comfort of our room. The weather was dreadful & the room was a bit cold, so we asked about heating & Natasha said she would sort it out. We went into Callander for an evening meal, and upon arrival back at the hotel, Natasha had sorted a portable heater out for us. She said she knocked a few times as she didn’t want us to be cold in the room. She was lovely too, and picked up conversations about the local area, and where we were headed next. The staff were so welcoming & the hotel was very nice with a stunning view. The only downside it was about half an hours drive into Callander and the weather was horrendous - but this is obviously nothing to do with the hotel! Can’t speak more highly of Claire & Natasha’s service. Highly recommended!

Very friendly and welcoming staff; comfortable beds and nicely furnished room; pleasant location; the menu in the restaurant was ambitious, ingredients seemed to be locally sourced, and the food was good - a bit too pricey given the quite small portion-sizes (the mains felt more like starter sized portions) - but all well prepared and tasty nevertheless. Overall, very comfortable, peaceful and recommended for an overnight stay.

Fantastic location with stunning views. Short drive to hiking locations. Remote. Lovely rooms and very comfortable beds with ambient temperatures. Spare oil heater if anyone felt cold in the night but this was not needed. Laura and her staff were very attentive, friendly and professional. Always on hand if needed. Meals were delicious.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome at Achray House. Check-in was faultless, the room was large and well equipped, with plenty of in room hot drinks and Sky TV. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and of great quality with the view from the dining room providing the perfect backdrop. Service was excellent, including navigating the large selection of gins. The only negative was that the shower was a little disappointing in terms of power. That said we would stay here again as it was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall stay.

Great place - beautiful location - very nice room - quiet and comfortable with a nice bathroom - the staff was especially nice. We were there the first day after they had been without power for 3 days (because of Arwen). We had dinner in their restaurant and it was excellent with a warm, cozy atmosphere. You're right across the street from a beautiful lake.

This property unfortunately didn't meet our expectations ,having read the great reviews. Bed was extremely hard & the pillows were so soft you sank so far into them that your head was pretty much flat on the mattress . However the room was adequate size & very clean . We ate in the restaurant on one night of our stay both the service and the food were pretty average,not at all what we expected ! The breakfast was the same fayre you would find in any other hotel, nothing special. Some yogurt and fresh fruits would have been nice as would a WHOLE slice of black pudding and a WHOLE potato scone ! On the plus side ,the breakfast waitress (think her name was Molly )was excellent !

Traditional Scottish hotel with beautiful views of Loch Earn. The few staff they had- probably due to Covid- were working tremendously hard and struggled to keep up at times. Our room was a bit of a squash, with one side of the double bed pushed right up against the wall. Would recommend booking one of the larger loch-view rooms. Breakfast was substantial (a half portion of the granola was more than enough as a first course) and the kippers were excellent.
