The property itself was very cute and offered a peaceful, quiet setting tucked away from the busy highway. We appreciated the secluded atmosphere and enjoyed how relaxing the location was.
That said, our stay was significantly impacted by a spider infestation. As someone from Montana, I understand that insects and spiders are a normal part of life, especially in more rural areas. However, the number of spiders throughout the house was excessive. We didn't have to search for them—they were consistently visible in multiple areas of the home. We also found numerous egg sacs, which was concerning.
I contacted the property manager the day after arrival and was informed that pest control could not come until after our stay. By the second day, we were seeing even more spiders, including many smaller ones, and were told, "Feel free to spray them with household cleaner if you'd like to. The pest control is scheduled for Tuesday." Unfortunately, this left us managing the issue ourselves. I ended up purchasing my own spider spray just so I could feel comfortable enough to sleep at night. One spider killed was a black widow.
The house could have also benefited from a more thorough cleaning. For example, the bathroom area rug appeared as though it had not been vacuumed recently. Mice droppings in the piano.
Overall, the property has a lot of charm and is located in a wonderfully quiet setting, but the spider problem and cleanliness concerns made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay.
