  • The Farm House est une maison centenaire de 2 chambres qui a été récemment rénovée pour offrir à ses clients le meilleur des deux mondes. charme d'antan et confort moderne, il dispose d'une blanchisserie complète et d'une cuisine complète pour les repas faits maison. Il y a une chambre principale et une deuxième chambre avec deux lits simples. Nous avons un lit queen size et un lit pliant. Avec beaucoup de places de stationnement devant, il y a une grande cour arrière pour les enfants et les animaux domestiques.

Bed Bugs

We needed a one-night stay the night before my sister-in-law's wedding in McKinney. The host contacted me two hours before our check-in, informing me that we would have to be relocated to his other property, "Eleanor's Cottage," because the guest at this property would not leave. We agreed to stay at the other property; however, we woke up in the morning of the wedding to bed bugs everywhere. I contacted the host and asked for a refund, to which he said he would give me one IF i did not post a bad review. No refund was given. No one should stay at either property!!!!!!!!

Got what we paid for

On the surface everything was so cute and as pictured. Very well decorated. Downside: seeing the gigantic rat trap in the main bathroom was a bit unnerving. coffee pot plug couldn’t reach at the “coffee station” had to move it to kitchen. Creamer provided was old& dried up. No back lighting at all. Very rickety back stairs. A lot of rotten wood. WiFi extremely slow. We loved the affordable price so we got what we paid for??

If we could give less than one star, we would have. Don’t make the mistake I did and book a stay here. We were very unhappy with the house. To begin with, the front porch steps were incredibly rickety and the porch floor was very weak at the front door. Upon entering the house we were met with a very unpleasant order like the house had been closed up for a long time. The furnishings were very old with slip covers that were stained and dirty. The house looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. The fridge was dirty with drinks left in it from who knows how long. The info on the house said two bedrooms and would sleep 7. I really don’t know how since there was a double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other room. No way would I have slept there. The neighbor was sketchy at best. I have never left a bad review on any VRBO I have stayed at. We left without spending the night there and the owner would not give us a refund. Also tv didn’t work and no internet. BEWARE!

Needs work

The house needs work, very old…has that old smell too. No TP when we got there, host immediately brings over. It was as if he was looking for an excuse to come. Very overpriced.

A few items to consider

I don't normally like to leave reviews however, there are a few items that people should be aware of when staying here. There are a lot of cute details and the decorations were done well. You should be aware however, that this is a very old house and there are a lot of nuances associated with the age of the home. For example, there are numerous 3-in steps throughout the house in between the rooms that can be precarious. I was traveling with my elderly parents and they both almost fell and my mom stubbed her toe pretty badly because they are not used to having steps in between rooms. Additionally, the bed in the main room is very high and they were not able to sleep in it. I ended up having to have them sleep in the bunk bed / trundle bed. It was not a very pleasant experience for them. Additionally, some of the other nuances are the coffee maker didn't work, the front door is not easily locked as movement in the house, and I had to use a pillow to prop the master bedroom door closed throughout the night. Lastly, there are a lot of old boards on the front porch and it is dangerous for people to walk on. The middle step is about to break. I hope these notes serve as more of an understanding that this home is not for everyone to stay in. I'm sure if you're young and healthy you will be fine. This is just not a home for elderly people.

Christmas on the Farm

Great little getaway for Christmas. Kitchen was fully stocked with all essential appliances, dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Queen bed was so comfortable. Much more area inside than I had expected. Fire pit out back and rockers on the front porch. Decorated shabby chic / Victorian, but not over done. No complaints on this cute rental. Was exactly what I was looking for.

comfy and cozy

This is the cutest little cottage EVER. Lee was great at communicating and the check in process was a breeze! Super quiet neighborhood for a nice relaxing get away. Would definitely stay there again!
