I can’t say enough good stuff about this family vacation at Daufuskie Island. I’d never even heard of it but was planning a vacation and literally trying to find a place that would be so far off the beaten path we’d have no choice but to unplug and relax. This unit popped up and I was intrigued. I was offered the option to have the rental company make all arrangements, including the boat ride across to and from, transportation to and from the dock and the golf cart waiting for us at the rental unit, and I went ahead and had them do it so I had even less to do. The unit was breathtaking, views from large portions of the unit of nothing but ocean. A large active osprey nest nearby to watch from the wrap around porch. Lots of little roads to explore with the golf cart. Several restaurants with great food. Lots of history. LOTS of wildlife! And miles of beautiful, largely empty, sandy beach. A place I’d never heard of before has now risen to the top of our most favorite places and one we will most definitely be planning to return to. The only “negatives” are a few minor things. As mentioned, it’s only accessible by boat or ferry so take that into consideration. There’s no grocery store on the island, so prepare to buy groceries and bring with, and that takes some prep. There were a few mechanical issues within the unit, disposal in kitchen didn’t work, faucet issue with ONE of the sinks in the master bathroom, dryer issue. But I texted the management co, problems fixed quickly.

Ok so first off- this condo was in an amazing location! I really want to give it 5 stars, but just can’t. I’m going to list out the pros & cons:Pros: LOVE the condo! Great location, beautiful decor, perfect set up for families, fantastic pool, great access to the beach, comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen, fast & friendly communication with the property managerCons: I feel bad even saying it, but guys…. Roaches,… like lots of them in the master bedroom (at least 12 ). My friend staying in that room said they crawled on her ceiling,walls & in her bag EEK! I alerted the manager and she said the property is sprayed once a month on a schedule. In my opinion a serious bug bombing needs to be done, not just a typical monthly service, as evidently that’s nowhere near powerful enough to kill the infestation of the master bedroom. We would absolutely return to this property once this was taken care of though because it really is fantastic (minus the infestation). A couple other complaints but nothing major. An annoying fire detector alarmed every time we opened the oven despite the fact there was no smoke (also alerted management about that, hopefully they will replace with a not as sensitive one near the kitchen). They could also use some new non-stick pans bc unfortunately seems like guests have ruined theirs by using metal utensils. Some other minor issues as it’s not a new building but am very much hoping bug issue is solved so we can come back!

Family reconnect

Loved the Condo and excellent communication. Word of warning for the island itself, bring and apply often bug spray. Bring as much groceries as possible the couple of stores charge crazy money for the simplest of goods! Overall an amazing stay and highly recommend it!!!

Beautiful Island

This was our first visit to Daufuskie Island, and the island itself is absolutely beautiful. For the most part, we had a great time. However, we did experience a few issues with the condo, though the staff was very friendly and made efforts to address our concerns.One major issue was the refrigerator, which was not functioning properly. It couldn’t keep our food cold, The staff kindly provided us with some ice and even offered to move our food to another unit. However, since we had limited time on the island, we decided not to take advantage of the offer to avoid the hassle.Additionally, the TV in the bunk bed room didn’t work because the cord couldn’t reach the outlet. The staff was quick to provide an extension cord, which helped resolve the issue.The cleanliness of the condo also left something to be desired. There was a lot of dust on the desk in the living room, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. Since it was one of the first things you notice when you enter, it gave a bit of an unpleasant impression right off the bat.Despite these issues, we had a great time on the island and appreciated the staff’s efforts to make our stay as comfortable as possible

Spectacular View Apartment

Property is well-managed, Great view. Everyone enjoyed stay. It was quiet which is good for someone from the Northeast. But not too quiet since teenagers found enough activities. Easy family living and exploration

We spent a week at the property and on the island. The pace is slow, easy, and you have to go with the flow. For us this was a much needed slow down where we spent most days at the pool or on the beach with our kids - ages 11 and 7. The beach was a favorite with some morning or evenings of being alone for a mile. It was at first surprising and then just felt like our little oasis Explored most days by using the cart to head to a new place to eat. Some recommendations - go to the School House Coffee and see all the historical sites! Kid friendly park and play were available. Also enjoyed the new Bells on the Beach (Meleose) for “linner” (lunch/dinner) though we had to roll with the menu. The island is isolated so food/menu varied. Bring over your groceries for the week and enjoy some home cooked meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Management was excellent from start to finish. Thank you all!

Exceeded Expectations

This was our first time to visit Daufuskie and we really didn’t know what to expect when selecting the property. I wanted a quiet, secluded, peaceful property with ocean views and easy beach access. Needless to say the property exceeded my expectations. The condo is gorgeous! The decor makes you feel at home. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay and the views are phenomenal. I enjoyed the sunrise and sunset on the balcony every day. We are already planning our next trip. The location of the condo is the best on the island in my opinion. The property managers are very attentive and make sure you have everything you need. Thank you!!

Fantastic Getaway

We had a wonderful, relaxing week. This condo was spacious, right on the beach and came with beach chairs and boogie boards. The pool was an added bonus. I loved that each room had its own private bathroom. My only complaint is that there was no dresser in the master bedroom so we lived out of our suitcase all week.

Couldn’t ask for a better stay.

This property was absolutely perfect. The views were amazing and you get the best of both worlds, the beach and the pool! The villa was equipped what all the necessities. This was a perfect social distancing vacation spot. Just make sure to enter Sandy Lane Villas through the Bloody Point entrance and not down Beach Rd! We got stuck in the sand!

Long weekend retreat with friends

Enjoyed the condo with two friends - what a great location. Wish the ice-maker in the fridge was functioning better, and missed drawers for clothes in the master bedroom. Otherwise, a great space and very comfortable. The dolphins passing the beach each morning were a highlight.

Pent House in Paradise

Daufuskie is my favorite place on earth ! Over the years we have rented numerous places from Deb Smith . Her rentals are very well kept and fully stocked with all the comforts you would find at home . I arrived home today and left my computer in the villa. She went out of her way to send it back to the mainland in one day . Getting to Daufuskie is a little bit of a process and one that is well worth the extra planning . She makes the process very easy ! We hope to return to the Island soon!

Perfect!

This condo is absolutely gorgeous! Pictures don’t do it justice!! Our family had a wonderful time making memories, cooking in the well stocked kitchen, eating and playing card games around the huge dining room table and relaxing on the balcony with its truly spectacular views! We are a large family which included my elderly parents. The rooms were spacious and no one felt crowded. There are no words to express just how helpful Deborah Smith and her team were. Deborah even loaned us an all-terrain Rollator so we could get my 90 yo father out to the beach!! Because this was our first trip to Daufuskie we didn’t know quite what to expect or how to be prepared. Deb thought of everything and even called the morning after our arrival to make sure there was nothing we needed. I couldn’t have imagined a better vacation! Thanks to the owners for sharing your beautifully decorated home with us and thanks Deb and team for making our trip all come together perfectly. We would love to stay in this beautiful home again very soon.

A Slice of Heaven

A Relaxing and Fun Family Island Vacay

My family and I had a great time staying at the Spectacular View Villa on Daufuskie Island. It's a beautifully decorated place and has everything needed to make your stay cozy and comfy. The beach is amazing and is pretty secluded. The most people we saw was maybe 30. Deb and Karen were very quick to answer emails and were very accommodating. The golf cart was handy and we were able to see as much of the island as we wanted to. A great place to stay!
