I accidentally booked this property for the wrong week and missed our stay, bad on me. However, the attitude from the property management was that since we booked through VRBO, there was nothing they could do for us. I was not asking for a refund of the prepaid lodging; I understand this was on my part. However, I asked for the cleaning deposit back, as no one had stayed in the unit, and I was informed that the unit had to be cleaned for our arrival. I then asked if they could extend a discount for 2 nights, and I would pay for three full-price nights ( and they could pick the nights), but they informed me that they could not offer any options. Although they followed their script to the T and did not deviate from it, they defiantly came across as we could. Still, we won't. Your business as an individual is not significant to us, and the crazy idea of throwing me a bone for making such a huge mistake was beyond their ability to offer the smallest concession. This just in: The management team wanted to clarify "that the home had to be prepared, including cleaning before and after our stay as scheduled. Which means even though no one stayed in the unit, the cleaning has been performed as scheduled." Was a lie necessary to end this communication?
