I have traveled all over the world and worked around the airline industry for many years, and I have never experienced a hotel or motel this disgusting.
The ceilings were filthy, the carpets were stained and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time, and the shower had visible mold growing in it — something that could easily be addressed with basic housekeeping. The bathroom had cheap, worn-out white towels, washcloths that looked more like old kitchen rags, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper provided.
The bed was in terrible condition. The frame was sticking out to the point it could have seriously injured someone, the mattress was caved in and pulling away from the wall, and the headboard had visible handprints and stains that were frankly disturbing. The bed was made with just a thin sheet and no comforter, and there were only three old, flat pillows.
The hallways were just as bad — dirty carpets that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and the entire place smelled strongly of mold and cigarettes.
On top of that, the TV barely worked and the staff were unfriendly. The outside of the property looked just as neglected as the inside.
What’s most frustrating is that this property actually has potential to be a nice place. But it’s obvious that due to poor management and lack of care from ownership, it has been completely run down.
This was easily the worst hotel experience I’ve had in all my years of traveling.
