Die Fassade allein macht es nicht...!
Wir verbrachten ein verlängertes Wochenende in Dublin (4 Nächte). Diese positiven Punkte können aber nicht gänzlich die weniger guten Aspekte ausgleichen. Das Hotel besticht durch die äussere und innere Erscheinung und überzeugt durch das sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Servicepersonal. Es ist sehr zentral gelegen und nach wenigen Gehminuten befindet man sich im Einkaufszentrum von Dublin. Besonders zu erwähnen sei auch die Leistung des SPA - wir erlebten das Personal dort als sehr freundlich und kompetent. Weniger gut gefallen, und da können die positiven Punkte die weniger guten Aspekte nicht ausgleichen, war die Verfügbarkeit von anderen Hoteleinrichtungen. Weihnachtszeit hin oder her, es war schlicht unmöglich gemütlich die Hotelbar aufzusuchen oder sonst einen Bereich in der Hotellounge zu finden, da jeden Tag das Hotel ausgebucht war von Firmenanlässen und Parties (nicht für Hotelgäste). Man konnte sich durch die Menschenmenge drängen um schnell auf das Zimmer oder zum Hotelausgang zu gelangen, das war es aber auch schon. Auch von einem gemütlichen Frühstück kann keine Rede sein. Neben schmutzigen Besteck (es sei aber erwähnt, dass nach anfänglichen Zögern, der Restaurantmanager die Reklamation gut gemeistert hatte), befand man sich in einem dicht gedrängten und eher bedrückenden Frühstücksraum. Man hätte sich ganz einfach von einem 5 Sterne Haus hier mehr "Raum" und Ambiente erwartet. Minibar - gut gefüllt nur leider überhaupt nicht kalt usw.

Schöne und interessante Tage in Dublin
Wir kennen Dubling von früheren Besuchen und es hat uns dort sehr gefallen. Wir haben dieses Hotel gewählt, weil es über eine ausgezeichnete Küche verfügt und qualifiziertes und freundliche, hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter hat. Gleichzeitig liegt es in direkter Nähe eine wunderbaren Parks. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Dublin werden wir dort sicher wieder wohnen.

Grossartiges Hotel an idealer Lage. Schönes, grosses Zimmer mit hervorragendem Bad. Kleiderschrank viel zu klein und ausserdem mit Safe, Teeutensilien und Bügelbrett verstellt. Hervorragende Küche in allen Restaurants. SPA ist fast nicht zu finden, ein wahrer Irrweg, bis man dort ist. SPA selber ist schön. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Luxuriöses Stadthotel an zentraler Lage!
Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, aber klein. Hatte ein Zimmer im 8ten Stock mit unattraktiven Ausblick auf Hinterhof-Gasse und Lärm von einer Glassammelstelle in der Nähe. Mein Zimmer (Nr. 867) war in der Nähe des Lifts und sehr hellhörig(Liftgeräusche, Geräusche von Personen auf dem Gang und in den anliegenden Zimmern). Hatte den Eindruck, dass das Personal während Feiertagen (Bank Holidays) an seine Kapazitätsgrenze kommt (lange Wartezeit auf à la Carte-Frühstück, Zimmerservice erst um 15:00h). Davon abgesehen ein sehr schönes stilvolles Hotel mit herrlichem Interieur und einer reichen Tradition. Sehr gutes Essen und, von Ausnahmen abgesehen, sehr gutem Service. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage lässt sich die Stadt sehr gut zu Fuss erkunden.

Great that the Shelbourne now prioritises their residents over the walk-in customers. Was great to see that a dedicated area for residents have opened in all the bars. We had the most stunning bedrooms and enjoyed also lounging around with our young adult kids and catching up.

Rude checking in staff member, toilet panel kept falling off in our room, wrong meal served in saddle room which meant one of our parties meal arrived after we had all finished! No refund or discount offered. They didn’t eat their meal as they didn’t want to eat after we had all finished! Really poor for an expensive restaurant.

Excellent location in Dublin
My husband and I stayed here as our first trip to Dublin and we were blown away! The location is excellent and the accommodations were above and beyond. We were so comfortable and loved that we could walk to many locations nearby. The only thing we noted about our room is that it was a little warm and the duvet was very heavy, but that may just be our preference. Everything else was superb!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shelbourne. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location cannot be beat. Plus, it had plenty of amenities that make it feel like a real vacation. Two minor areas for improvement: we had house keeping staff open the door without knocking on at least 3 occasions, once while we were sound asleep. We understand there is the Do Not Disturb tag but we didn’t expect disturbances at 7 am, 9 pm etc. Final minor complaint is that the room was hot, about 8 degrees warmer than our sleeping comfort. We could turn the air conditioning on but this did very little. And the windows barely cracked open. If you’re a hot sleeper, this would be a problem for you.
