Property is just as described. We enjoyed the peaceful backyard. The cabin was very clean with a rustic feeling that we enjoyed. No cell service for Verizon made it a true getaway!!
Blissful!! My partner and I stayed for a weekend to see the fall colors, and although it was dreary and rainy, it was absolutely beautiful and incredibly cozy! Had everything we could need, and it was super nice to be able to unplug and truly get away, with other luxuries readily available. Couldnât have asked for a better place, and we will definitely be back!
This cozy cabin was very nice inside. It was much closer to the road than expected and the little bit of traffic noise was easily heard. Yes, it had an outhouse that was decorated nicely but smelled terrible. A little charcoal for odor absorption would have been nice for this long drop loo. Also, the shower device was not very helpful in taking our bucket shower and this was done in the stinky potty. So, not sure if I smelled clean or like poo after. The mattress was very firm and a bit too firm for my liking. The owner was very quick to respond to all my messages and the cabin itself was quick comfortable but the bathroom and shower situation made me feel like it was quite overpriced due to road noise and smelly potty.
It was the best way to escape from busy Duluth traffic and tourists. Waking up to the opera of bird calls and morning sounds made it the best start to each day. The best way to experience the north of Minnesota IMO.
We enjoyed our time here and it was a good set up for our two young kids. Our six year old commented, "This is the perfect place to be!" What impressed us the most was how thoughtfully everything was set up from the full kitchen with utensils to the flashlights and cleaning products. And the communication from our host before and during our stay was phenomenal!
My son was worried about renting a Tiny Shack. We were abundantly surprised to find so many accommodations: AC, TV (with limited channels), radio, games to play, very nice campfire area, and great appliances. We owned a shack of our own on a nearby lack, so we are used to living rough. The Tiny Shack knocked it out of the park.
Our weekend stay included trips to nearby lakes. We caught many fish and had a nice fish fry on Saturday night. We played cribbage, watched a bit of TV, but cancelled bon fire plans due to the bugs. Tiny Shack does have a nice screen house, but we saved that for another time.
Will definitely return for more fishing in the future.
