„We had a lovely weekend stay at this country pub with rooms. The owners are lovely and very friendly and welcoming. Its a dog friendly place, so for us, that was perfect. Our room (room 2) was on the ground floor and had a door leading out to the garden, great if you have a dog. The room was a good size and very comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities, tv and a hairdryer. The king sized bed was good and the bathroom was lovely. We ate dinner and breakfast here both days and the food ...

„We always have a good time at the Farmers Inn. The rooms are newly renovated, nice and clean, the bathrooms are very chic. Here the whole package is right. A cosy pub, very good homemade food, great whisky selection. Who is not conclusive, Colin finds the suitable one :-). Drinks specials are always offered. For us a must be at the end of each Scotland vacation before it goes on to the ferry back to Germany.“

„We booked for a 2 night stay and were made so welcoming and friendly pn arrival. Fabulous room and ensuite beautifully clean and comfortable. Lovely flowers fruit and homemade shortbread made it a special treat. Delicious food and friendly host .Will definitely book again.A must for a quiet break away.This is a littke gem tucked away in lovely surroundings. .“

„Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. “

„Stayed over for one night passing through on a cycling trip. The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful storing and charging our bikes. Only open for B&B but fortunately the local tearoom opens on weekend evenings for meals. Well stocked community shop next door and community pub at the end of the street. Great village and area.“

„Die Dame, die uns empfangen hat, war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir durften 2 h vor der offiziellen Check-in-Zeit unser Zimmer beziehen. Das erste Wort, das mir zum Hotel einfiel, als wir davorstanden, war „Spelunke“. Es sieht von außen recht heruntergekommen aus. Passt aber somit gut ins Umfeld. Der Hinterhof/ Parkplatz wurde des nächtens von laut herumschreienden Betrunkenen als Heimweg benutzt. Gut, wenn man neue schottische Schimpfwörter lernen will! ;-) Ruhe und Erholung findet man hier ...

„Direkt neben dem Southerness Holiday Park gelegen, wo es einen Lebensmittel-Laden gibt. Pub und Fish+Chips in der Nähe, ansonsten gibt es in Southerness nicht viel. Das Meer ist wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Das Haus ist ok, ausreichend groß für 5-6 Personen, allerdings nur ein Bad/WC. Kein kostenloses WLAN, Mobilfunk ist im Haus auch nicht immer verfügbar. Kontakt zum Vermieter nur per E-Mail.“

„This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back.“

Wonderfull first Family Vacation
"We would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful time. It was our first family vacation. We spent almost 3 weeks in the lodge, along with our 21-month-old daughter and our dog. The lodge is very clean and well-equipped. It is beautifully situated in a small, peaceful cluster of holiday homes, right on the border of fields and the forest. We were regularly greeted in the morning by cows, who would stretch their heads over the fence into the garden to welcome us. The lodge is nestled in the heart of nature, yet very well connected to the nearby town of Dumfries, offering a fantastic starting point for a multitude of activities. The owner provides a whole basket of brochures, but it's also worth inquiring about current events at the tourist information in Dumfries. There's plenty to do for children. The Mabie Farm Park is less than 2 miles away, and our daughter absolutely loved it. Furthermore, everyone there is extremely dog-friendly, which touched us deeply and was truly heartwarming. We would be delighted to come back again and wish the owner all the best! Warm regards from Dennis, Farina, and Liandra with Labrador George."
