Nice Location and Home
We were looking for a home in a peaceful area, nice amenties and close to lots of things to do. This century home fit the bill. This home is close to lots of activities from hiking, shopping, fishing, skiing (in season) and sight seeing to name a few. Groceries and restaurants are nearby. Loved the sounds of the couple trains in the distance as they passed through. House is set up for lots of adults ad even has a crib available for a little one. Two bedrooms are on the main floor with another large one upstairs. The kitchen has the basics for cooking and we have made some suggestions to the owner how to enhance that. The steps are a bit challenging and we found the steps leading from the back patio were an easier way to bring in and take out our luggage. We did not use the patio as it was not quite in-season for that but would be enjoyable when available. Sitting on the porch was nice at the end of the day. Communication with the owner was immediate when we had a couple questions. We would return.

Perfect cabin for family vacation in Mt Shasta area
This place was just wonderful for our multi generation family of 6. We visited for our annual holiday trip. The house is very clean, warm, tastefully decorated and light, close to the restaurants in Dunsmuir (nearest and awesome Dunsmuir Brewery Works is just down the street). There's very nice furniture in the living room, with new super comfortable sofas-lounge chairs and smart TV. Beds and the whole house is very comfortable. There is enough space for 6 people and everything is well organized. We are grateful to the host for being available and checking in with us in case we needed anything. Kitchen has all necessities, and espresso machine; we cooked and baked cookies. Grocery store is just a couple blocks away. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, there's church right down the street. We also discovered Magic Mountain massage and wellness studio nearby, which turned out to be amazing. This area is so beautiful and this place is a wonderful home for the holidays and in any season. We're hoping to be back soon!

Great spot for families to visit Mt. Shasta and Trinity-Shasta Forest
Our family stayed here for a week and we loved this house. Between the ample space available in each room, the kitchen amenities, and the location, we were able to settle in, relax, but also get out and enjoy the area without difficulty. We needed to park on the street since our sedan couldn't get up the driveway's angles, so just be aware since there are some stairs to get up from the street. Otherwise, this was a great house, and the hosts are kind and responsive.

Great property to use as base camp for lots of hikes and outdoor excursions. The house was big and felt very comfortable for all 4 of us. Great walking distance to restaurants. We would stay here again.

Good property, but could use some work.
Okay, I’m going to be completely honest about this vacation rental and state and good and the bad. For starters, this place was priced really well! Compared to staying in Mt. Shasta City, it was a lot more affordable and that was nice. Secondly, it’s a well-situated property. It has a great deck and front window that overlooks the town and pine forested hills. You can walk to the local market, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and downtown. It’s nice being so close and not having to drive to get food or look around. Thirdly, the owners have obviously put in some good work into the house. The floors and paint appear to be fresh. The kitchen and bathroom have updated counter tops. Plus, the high ceilings and tall windows give the property a spacious and airy feel. Overall, it’s a nice place to hang out in and stay a few days! However, I have two big gripes about the property which can totally be remedied should the owners decide to. The first is the furniture. After driving 4 hours and siting down on the couch, we immediately could tell it was staging furniture. The couches, both downstairs and up, were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Even my daughter was like, “what’s wrong with this couch?” after sitting on it. Clearly the owners were more interested in how the furniture photographs than its functionality. I know, it sounds petty, but your butt and back shouldn’t be sore after watching Netflix for 10 minutes. So, they should upgrade at least the downstairs couch. But by far the worst part was the amount of garbage and weeds in the front lawn. I noticed how much litter there was first thing when pulling up. There were candy and chip wrappers, old food scraps, used napkins, and other detritus. The owners had warned me that there might be trash in the yard on account of the home next door getting renovated, but this was more than just a random home depot bag blowing into the yard, it looked like people were straight up eating on the front steps and just leaving all their trash. And the way a lot of it was faded, it appeared that this had been the state of the front yard for some time. Furthermore, there were so many overgrown weeds flanking the trash that I was frankly a little embarrassed to be there. Clearly, they know about this issue or they wouldn’t have mentioned it, but the lack of regard for the first impressions of their guests spoke volumes of how much they cared for their property. Overall though, decent place to stay and explore.

Thank you so much for the response. Sofas are being replaced next month, I’m aware of that just I wasn’t able to visit due to some personal issues. Regarding the garbage and weed, this is something that I’m not aware of at all. Whenever I speak with my housekeeper she said it’s all good and clear and that grass is being cut. Obviously, she was not honest with me. Thanks again for keeping me posted about the details. I will take care of all missing parts next month Best regards

Truly amazing home 🏡
Our stay in this amazing home in the town of Dunsmuir was simply incredible!! This cute home is very spacious! The awesome jetted bathtub is epic and works very well!! 3 bedrooms!! Close to walk to everything in town!!! The fireplace was so beautiful!! You can purchase a fire log for $6.50 at the local grocery store in town , it lasted over four hours !! This home is close to Mount Shasta!! Communication with the owner was impeccable!! Very safe neighborhood!! We will definitely stay here again!!!

The property itself was completely fine, clean, quiet, suitable for small or large groups. However, I was trying to get in touch with the owners before and they were completely unavailable. I sent 2 messages via VRBO, I called and texted on the number provided and even contacted VRBO who reached out them - they were completely unavailable and did not communicate at all. I would not go back.

Hi Kristin, I have to inform you that never got your messages, neither from vrbo. Last message was actually sent by me and I never got the reply. Also vrbo never contacted me either. My replies are instant or in 30 min window. So sorry that communication didn’t go well but there is also a chance that messages from your side didn’t go through since reception in that area can be bad at some spots. Going through the call list I see that you called me on June 10th and I missed it from some reason. After that I have no missed calls voice messages nor sms. Checking the vrbo, I replied on all your messages but never got reply on my last message to you. Previous guests told me that their vrbo account didn’t work and they never got check in instructions but still we got in touch and everything was solved Thanks for the review and for informing me. This property was beautiful. It was big bright and cozy. I would definitely rent it again. Also would be great for family's with small children as there was changing tables and a crib. The owners were an absolute joy to work with. First we were faced with a power outage (planned) the owners allowed extra time. Second I became very ill and had to go to the hospital and we were able to stay an extra night. Overall a wonderful experience, other than the hospital...hahaa

Amazing weekend after a big winter snow.
This was just what the wife and I needed! A short weekend trip away with just the two of us. We arrived on Friday evening right after a big snowstorm. The surrounding was beautiful to say the least. The home is very comfortable, clean, and in a quit neighborhood. Everything that we needed was right there. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. And we will definitely make this our weekend getaways throughput the year.

Bigger than it looks, clean and very comfortable. The AC works great through the entire home. Great views of the mountains from the front window and porch. Back porch area great for evening hangouts. We had a superb one month stay. So close to everything on a very quiet street.

Good location for a view but did not have all the amenities and comfort.
Did not have mirror in the bathroom so it was hard to get ready, shampoo compartment was empty, there was no dishwasher soup in the sink, one of the trash cans was full when we got there, there were a bunch of things out of place like the scented wall socket air freshener was empty and next to the fore place, vacuum cleaners with their cord out and all over the place also the beds had very rough covers and pillow cases which didn't add to comfort.

Family had a great time. House was wonderful. Loved the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Fun games to play in the house. Walked downtown to the local Mexican Restaurant for dinner the first night. Went to the Hetch Creek Falls. Nice little hike for my daughter who was almost 8 months pregnant. Spent the next day at Castle Lake & Lake Siskiyou swimming and picnicking. Beautiful lake for swimming in view of Mt. Shasta. Great water temperature. Front porch is an awesome place to relax in the morning. Views from this house are the best! Would definitely stay again.

It’s a lovely older house in kind of a hipster neighborhood that is a short two minute walk down to restaurants The property is exceptionally clean and very well equipped with plenty of space if you have a large family. There’s lots to do in the area, hiking to many lovely areas and a trip to Mount Shasta and the town is literally a minutes walk down the street. I will be back again.

Great mountain getaway
This is a great property for a stay in the Dunsmuir/Mount Shasta area. Very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. We barely even knew anyone else was around. Close to the freeway and a quick drive to several beautiful attractions. You can also easily walk to town for a quick bite to eat. Ely answered questions quickly and was wonderful to work with. I would highly recommended this property.

Great vacation
Really nice comfy, clean and quiet house. Great location for exploring Mt. Shasta area, Castle Crags State Park and lots of waterfalls. Walk two short blocks and you’re at Dunsmuir Brewery in the heart of town. Ely is a very responsive host. Hope to come back some day.
